A federal judge late Wednesday ordered the Trump administration to provide a description of the materials it intends to publicly release about the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
U.S. District Judge Richard Berman in his order requested a detailed description of the privacy process, including any redactions, the Government seeks to employ to protect the rights of Epstein victims. He is also seeking a description of the materials subject to a July 25, 2019, protective order.
Berman gave the Department the Justice (DOJ) until noon on Dec. 1 to provide the requested information.
The order comes after attorneys Bradley Edwards and Brittany Henderson, who represent some of Epsteins victims, wrote in a letter to the judge that documents recently uploaded by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee have exposed the identities of victims and consequently caused significant emotional distress for our clients.
