MTG goes on extraordinary rant about Charlie Kirk, Republican men and her resignation: 'F*** you'

Source: The Independent

Wednesday 26 November 2025 13:15 EST

Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene posted a lengthy screed about Republican men, and the threats she faces as a political figure, after someone suggested she stay in office.

The firebrand congresswoman has broken from the Republican party on several major issues in recent months, a split that culminated in a falling out with President Donald Trump. In a shock announcement last week, Greene said she plans to step down in January after enduring years of personal attacks and threats.

On Tuesday afternoon, in response to one of Greene’s X posts, right-wing internet personality Mike Cernovich insisted she rethink her resignation. “You need to serve out your full term,” he wrote. She responded with a tirade Wednesday, defending her decision to resign and alluding to the dangers of being an outspoken political figure in 2025.

“Oh I haven’t suffered enough for you while you post all day behind a screen? Do I have to stay until I’m assassinated like our friend Charlie Kirk. Will that be good enough for you then?” she wrote, referring to the 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder’s assassination in September.

Well okay after reading that, in this overall I am team MTG.

If I thought she was really dropping out of politics instead of returning with support from all the billionaires she correctly trashes, I could agree with parts of her rhetoric. I don’t see how you can be any kind of Republican politician these days and legitimately populist in a good way. But yeah..that almost sounds feminist.

wtf is going on with MTG.
I liked it..

Not to mention a tightrope act with misogyny looming below and no net, I feel compelled to at least note that, regardless of gender, carving out an extremely public niche primarily through insults, tirades, and various categories of homophobia seems like a flawed PR program.

You can tone down the comedy, which he says out loud he wants to do, but you don't have to make a spectacle of yourself by meeting up with Trump and saying other things to make him look like a savior when he's clearly not.

He was very funny and edgy for a long time, in my view. We actually attended a rehearsal of one of his shows several years ago. (We weren't able to stay in L.A. for the day of the taping, so we opted for this.) He's a real parody of that now. It's such a shame. His Politically Incorrect show was a trailblazer back in the day. I'm guessing he'll give it up at the end of his current contracdt.

As a house member she gets $10,000 security a month since Charlie Kirk’s murder but her kids might also be targets.

Charlie usually had 6 to 10 body guard with him and that didn’t help him.

This is a person who got her start in politics by verbally haranguing and harassing the teen-aged survivor of a school shooting and recording it to gain internet fame. She also tried to bully a sitting congressperson just to produce more internet content.

She was so pleased with herself going after these people for the purpose of making them uncomfortable. Nothing in those attempts at confrontation were intended to gain information; she simply wanted attention. That was also her goal when she behaved like a howler monkey during Biden's address to Congress.

She wanted attention and now she is on the receiving end of the hostile sort that she tried to gin up towards others.

Karma can be a bitch. And while I absolutely do not want her to suffer any violence, there is a poetic justice in her feeling targeted.

Let her tag along, but be cautious. She might just bring some disillusioned magats over. I'd say let her. I think there will be something positive for us in the end even if she backs down a little, which I suspect she'll do.

ADD: I just found this in another story here in LBN. It only makes me more positive that Democrats should try to let her tag along, but also be wary of her. Here's what she told Nick Fuentes, certainly no one to say nice things to.

“I have been trying tell all you ‘men’ that our kitchen pantry is empty with spider webs, our house has been ransacked, the windows and doors are broken and busted, and the greedy rich bastards have twisted your minds into a sick state.” She added, “Get off your ass and fix your own damn food and clean up the kitchen when you’re done.”

Even in her goodbye rant, she reinforces how RE MAGA she is. This is an internecine fight among the MAGA portion of the Republicans. The gain for us is likely limited to a few months with one less Republican vote. That makes Johnson's job harder.

We should simply not speak of her departure at all. Let it be Republicans speaking and fighting. The best for us would be if others follow her example, although I doubt enough would quit midterm as she is doing.
