Trump pulling out all the stops to welcome Saudi crown prince for first White House visit since Khashoggi killing

Source: CNN Politics

President Donald Trump is planning to receive Saudi Arabia’s powerful Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the White House this week with all the trappings of a state visit, sources familiar with the matter said, including a welcome ceremony in the morning and a formal dinner in the evening.

“We’re more than meeting,” Trump said late Friday as he flew to Florida for the weekend. “We’re honoring Saudi Arabia, the Crown Prince.”

While the White House has decided to pull out all the stops, the visit cannot be classified as an official state visit as Prince bin Salman is not Saudi Arabia’s head of state. That position is occupied by his 89-year-old father, King Salman. But the crown prince has assumed almost all day-to-day responsibility for ruling the kingdom, and attends summits and other diplomatic engagements as the country’s leader.

The meetings Tuesday will mark Prince bin Salman’s first visit to the White House in more than seven years. Trump has worked to cultivate a close relationship with the kingdom’s de facto ruler in the hopes he will decide to establish diplomatic ties with Israel, which would be a major advancement of the president’s signature Abraham Accords — a longtime goal of the president’s.

recall that his son took down intelligence reports on the members of the Prince's family that were not loyal to the prince, and they all soon disappeared?
Jared was in deep trouble with a 150 million dollar balloon? payment due on one of his crappy building investments, and he made a special trip down to the Prince with a brief case, then turned around and came straight back home with a "Loan" for the 150 Million.........

payment for U.S. etc intel on the family, was just a precursor to what was to follow......Every countries Intel on military capabilities of all the prince's neighboring countries which he gladly paid Jared TWO BILLION DOLLARS to obtain for him....
Of course, Putin received all the information we had, including all intel from every other country, about every country's Military capabilities etc.
And I am sure Trump gave it to him for free.......

At this point, I am confident that NO other country will ever again share their Intel with the U.S. Especially NATO countries.....

Not if, but when he starts closing down NATO countries U.S. Military bases and installations it will forever win the praise of Putin, and bringing back the entire military personnel to the U.S. will fortify the U.S. Military presence here in the U.S. to use as his enforcement needs, like martial law.......
He will basically open the door to leaving the countries wide open to invasion by Putin with no resistance......

Trump pulls out of NATO.
Pulls out all US troops.
Putin has a clear shot at Europe.

However there has been a wrinkle in the plan.

The Russian economy is collapsing.
The war, sanctions, corruption, Ukraine destroying oil fields, etc has taken a huge toll on Russia.

I doubt Putin can swing controlling Europe right now.
If he is smart, he is figuring out how to save his own skin.

Not just Putin, but the dictator/tyrant leaders of any other country with nuclear weapons.....Including, but not limited to, Israel, China, NKorea, AND.....the USAin particular.....

And with all these military tyrant run countries, all they need do is launch just one nuclear missile......

Yes both Putin and Trump are both serious narcissistic psychopaths and quite dangerous.

However I believe there are significant differences in their behavioral pattern and mental status
which impacts a possible end game.

Putin will destroy Ukraine if possible. It has become personal and he has so many sunk costs in the war.

However when Putin is backed into a corner he will go full survival mode.
He will do whatever it takes to stay alive and make a clean getaway.
I believe Putin has escape plans that are somewhat complex and are another topic.

The only reason Putin would not blow up the world as this loads against escape.
His plans involve intact resources and escape locations, and an underground network of protection.
Blowing up the world loads against these plans.

Putin is very shrewd, focused, disciplined. It is 100% certain he has escape plans in place
and will not deviate from his plans and get emotional and stupid.

Trump is an entirely different kettle of fish.
He is a subpar intellect, has dementia, assumes he will be fine no matter what happens.
Hubris is his middle name. He has no escape plans. And no way to implement them effectively.
He is impulsive, foolish, and ruled by revenge fantasies. He is capable of blowing up everything.

I will say here however that Trump is a coward and opportunist. If the end is near he would
be willing to negotiate a favorable outcome for himself. And go peacefully if he can keep his fortune
intact, and no jail time for himself and spawn.

That is not my point.

My point is what I think they would actually do based on their clinical profiles,
their psychopathology, cognitive functioning, past behavior, motivations, etc.
This comes from science, facts, data.

Putin might start blowing up things as part of a cool calm thought process to distract
as he retreats to his secure and secret hideaway. His best bet to remain alive is to maintain
a low profile and never be heard from again. We know he will most likely be very angry but
his desire to live will outweigh his violence desires.

Trump could start lashing out yes, but he can be easily manipulated to go quietly.

I am also going to add that I think it very unlikely that American generals will
act on Trump's orders to blow up the world. Even MAGA generals.

This comes from my years as a military kid and understanding the military way of thinking.
High ranking US military officers will not start nuking their own country. Not only does it ideologically
go against the grain, they want their cushy retirement funds and luxury lifestyle.
Can't get that if they blow up taxpayers.

That said, predicting human behavior is not a certain science. Too many unknown variables.
And humans are not 100% predictable.

I have been first in medically on a couple of what EMS calls: "I'll Show You" suicides............the persons had shown no previous signs anything was wrong........the friends and family, who in all cases were all made to observe, were all psychologically scarred for life due to the horrific way the people did it.........especially the young children who observed......

Repressed anger, in both cases, was obviously part of the equation.....

It never ceases to amaze me what humans can do to themselves, and especially to others.... some really macabre minds running around out there......

Cheney and Rumsfeld kicked down the door to that universe..... with them, and the U.S. Military and Government not only sanctioning, but giving their approval of horrifically torturing the enemy combatants in Iraq....and Cheney sending in Mercenaries from Black Water? and them probably doing even worse things that we will never know about................

You just never know, and as you said I_D....."Humans are not 100% predictable"

The "East Room", which is actually within the original WH structure and wasn't part of the destroyed "East Wing".

Trump says White House’s East Room will be part of the ‘future’ entrance of his ballroom

When they destroyed the East Wing, they also took out that roofed the Colonnade that went to it (along with the theater that shared the space). The East Room is on an upper level.

I expect there is asbestos and other heavy metals still floating around over on that side though.

https://www.ms.now/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/trump-things-happen-saudi-crown-prince-mbs-khashoggi-rcna244681

Even before the president’s guest arrived at the White House, the scheduled meeting was controversial, in part because of the private sector dealings between Trump’s family business and Saudi officials. But after their public interactions, the story took a turn for the worse. The New York Times summarized:

President Trump brushed aside a reporter’s question about the role Saudi Arabia’s crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, played in the death and dismemberment of a Washington Post journalist in 2018, praising the kingdom’s de facto ruler in a joint Oval Office appearance that was heavy on flattery. Mr. Trump strongly defended Prince Mohammed, who U.S. intelligence has said ordered the killing of Jamal Khashoggi, the journalist who was killed by Saudi agents. Prince Mohammed has denied involvement.

Almost immediately after the joint event began, Trump praised the Saudi leader for “the job he’s done in terms of human rights and everything else.” Given the horrific human rights record Saudi Arabia has cultivated over the course of many years, the American president’s commendation was appalling.....

But things deteriorated further soon after.

Q: Is it appropriate for your family to be doing business in Saudi Arabia while you're president. Is that a conflict of interest? And your royal highness, the US intel community concluded you orchestrated the brutal murder of a journali---

TRUMP: Who are you with?

Q: ABC News

TRUMP: Fake news

Aaron Rupar (@atrupar.com) 2025-11-18T17:44:41.681Z

When a reporter pressed Trump on his obvious conflicts of interest, and the crown prince on intelligence pointing to his role in orchestrating the brutal murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the Republican interrupted to dismiss ABC News’ correspondent as “fake news.”

Moments later, Trump suggested that Khashoggi had it coming.

Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

Aaron Rupar (@atrupar.com) 2025-11-18T17:46:32.144Z

......As for the idea that the reporter’s question might “embarrass” Trump’s “guest,” it’s not the job of the free press to protect the feelings of foreign authoritarians.

Trump soon after whined about a reporter asking the Saudi leader “an insubordinate question,” as if members of the free press were somehow the crown prince’s employees.

As the event continued, the American president horsed around with the crown prince as if they were a pair of kids having a good time. Grabbing his guest’s hand, Trump specifically said: “I don’t care where that hand’s been.”

It’s occasionally tempting to think the Republican has hit rock bottom, but then he finds a way to drill a hole in the bottom of the barrel and fall even lower.
