(109 posts)but TWO shooters is rare. There are exceptions like Columbine and McVeigh/Nickols but usually it is a lone nutjob (Tyler Robinson, Audrey Hale, James Hodgkinson, Brenton Tarrant, Robin Westman) or larger teams (19 jihadis on Sept 11, Bataclan, First world trade center attack).

(148 posts)Why would it? What makes it likely that gun violence will become the norm now at country clubs around the nation? Most if not all will not relate this to having anything to do with their own lives

(164 posts)From a tweet it's Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, not Abenaqui. Also, the shooting occurred during a wedding reception, with 3-5 injured (no fatalities). Police clarified one suspect in custody, no ongoing threat, despite initial reports of two. Sources: CNN, AP, WMUR.

(13,285 posts)I remember as a kid looking in on my parents watching the news as Walter Cronkite gave the daily numbers of dead and wounded for the war in Vietnam. It certainly feels like the US has come down to that level with domestic gun violence.
This is a daily occurrence and everyone has become numb to it. Of course that's what the gun industry wants, once daily gun violence becomes normalized their profits are safe.

(62,534 posts)Front page. If the killer kills themselves post it the next morning. If the killer is caught post it the day after the sentencing. Full transparency. School full of dead kids? Ten page spread.
Then afterward show mandatory photos of the funeral. And then interview the families a year later.
If we ACTUALLY reported this crisis it would be solved.
I know I sound crazy but its the only way people will understand.

(15,951 posts)a) Are you suggesting a newspaper should have that on its front page every single day? Chicago for example has had over 300 murders so far and there are still 100 days left in the year. What governor or mayor is going to order that? Good luck attracting tourists.
b) Nobody is reading newspapers anyway these days.
c) I'm sure the families of the victims would want to see that

NASHUA, N.H.
Officials with the New Hampshire attorney general's office announced on Saturday night that they are investigating the fatal shooting of a man inside the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua.
According to the AG's office, one man entered the country club and fired several gunshots. A man was shot and killed and several other people were wounded.
Officials said the suspected shooter was detained at the scene by Nashua police officers.
Officials added that they believe there is no present threat to the public, and that initial reports indicating there were two shooters were "erroneous."
Shortly after the shooting, police initially said they were looking for two shooters, but later issued an update to indicate that video surveillance confirmed there was only one shooter and they were taken into custody............................

(12,078 posts)They seem to be going for the more well to do. The shooter of the CEO of a corrupt health insurance company. Charlie Kirk and now a country club. So the shootings are spreading into the well to do areas of the US.
You got to wonder who will have to die before guns will be regulated to provide security for the people as stated in the 2nd amendment.
