Disney streaming services users are cancelling their subscriptions over the suspension of the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show. Newsweek has contacted Disney via email for comment.

On September 15, 2025, Jimmy Kimmel, during his monologue, made remarks about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. He said that "many in MAGA land" were trying to "characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them ... doing everything they can to score political points from it."

Boycott calls have grown after ABC, which is owned by Disney, announced it would indefinitely suspend the show following complaints from the Federal Communications Commission (FFC) chair, Brendan Carr.
