House, Senate pass 'National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk' ahead of memorial service

Source: ABC News

Days before a memorial service for Charlie Kirk, the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives passed a "National Day of Remembrance" for the conservative influencer after he was killed on Sept. 10.

The Senate on Thursday unanimously approved a resolution marking Oct. 14, 2025 -- Kirk's birthday -- a "National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk."

While on the Senate floor, Sen. Rick Scott, the Florida Republican leading the passage of the resolution, said he is "proud to have the support of more than 20 of my colleagues to honor Charlie by dedicating his birthday" as this day of remembrance.

"Charlie was a good man -- a devout husband, father, and friend. His life was shaped by his faith and the idea that in America, debate and discussion are crucial to the betterment of our country," Scott said on Thursday.

Senate Democrats did not vote unanimously for the Republican's Charlie Kirk Day stunt

They just didn't object to the call for unanimous consent because if they did it would have forced a roll call vote and it would have passed because Republicans are in the majority.

It was a Republican stunt that is non-binding and means nothing.

The Senate Democrats simply ignored the Republican stunt.

I would have loved to have seen an actual vote. The House vote got bipartisan support. 310-58.

All 58 votes against the resolution came from Democrats. Ninety-five Democrats voted in favor of the resolution, 38 voted “present” and 22 did not vote.

All 215 Republican votes were in support of the resolution. Four GOP members did not vote.

Should just eat shit I guess because all the Democrats and Republicans that voted for their great "patriot" to have a holiday didn't think Black people should have a right to vote and hated MLK, the very person they now try to compare him too.
Fuck every single one of them in Congress that voted to give an overt racist and misogynist their own holiday.

The GOP is dumber than dirt. Seriously, they are shooting themselves in the foot and I am all for that!!!

Millions of angry Americans will be protesting in over 2,000 cities 4 days after their "Remembrance Day". Americans WILL remember that we did not elect a KING!

The GOP morons who voted for this BS are too dumb to realize how much we HATE them and their crap. We HATE what they did to Free Speech. We HATE them more and more with each passing day. They must be drunk or stoned to think for a nano second that Americans support their BS.

And it WILL get worse within the next month. The fucking moron does not think since he lacks a functioning brain and Steven Miller's hatred for everything our democracy stands for is their weakness. Miller is blinded by hate and the Dems will use this to their advantage.

Keep it up White House, your ignorance in under appreciating the intense hatred most Americans feel towards you will destroy you!!!

There are over 2,000 NO KINGS protests planned for Oct 18th
With one month to go the number of organized rallies will increase enormously.

There were millions of Americans who attended over 2,000 NO KINGS protests on the June 14, No Kings protest and this one will be even larger! The original was the largest mass protest in US history.

No Kings https://share.google/6MPwKc80iEQkUhrkf

Spread the word!!!!!

Ha ha, charade you are.
