Fox News' Brian Kilmeade apologizes for saying mentally ill homeless people should be executed

Fox News Channel host Brian Kilmeade apologized on Sunday for advocating for the execution of mentally ill homeless people in a discussion on the network last week, saying his remark was “extremely callous.”

Kilmeade’s initial comment came on a “Fox & Friends” episode Wednesday and began getting widespread circulation online over the weekend. Kilmeade, a host of the morning show, was talking with co-hosts Lawrence Jones and Ainsley Earhardt about the Aug. 22 stabbing murder of Iryna Zarutska on a light rail train in Charlotte, North Carolina.

A homeless and mentally ill man, Decarlos Brown Jr., was arrested for murder, and the case received extensive attention on Fox following the release of a security video of the stabbing.

Jones was talking on “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday about public money spent on trying to help homeless people and suggested that those who didn’t accept services offered to them should be jailed.

we rarely saw homeless people in my town. Now you see them often sleeping in the bushes or begging. These are some sad people but they deserve help and hope and dignity. Anything else is totally inhumane. But Brian Kilmeade lacks humanity.

if he apologizes or not. That is like saying you want to murder your mother. There's just some things that decent people don't say, and to say them means you just aren't an OK person. Standing on stage and mocking a disabled person on camera is another.

And not one remark associate along w/ his remark that was thrown up w/ his ignorant remark didn't suggest more outreach to help such persons, more resources to address the increasing homeless population, more resources to help the increasing numbers of those w/o insurance, etc.

If Matt Dowd got fired for what he said about Charlie Kirk, which I thought was relatively innocuous (and also true), then Kelmeade should be bounced out on his azz for this one.

He did it cuz he had to. And took his own sweet time about it, also.

AND it took him til Sunday to “apologize” - for an offense committed the Wednesday before. Four days late!

What he should have done is: to jump in at the end of that same Wednesday’s show and offer an apology right then and there. Instead of four days later.

Psychopathic traits include superficial charm, grandiosity, manipulation, pathological lying, lack of remorse or guilt, shallow emotions, callousness, and a lack of empathy.

How many of these traits fit Kilmeade? Other than his total lack of charm, I mean.

Fire him and charge him with inciting murder.
If he was a Democrat, they would make sure that he, at the very least, resign.
This was not even an actual apology, it was a little aside.
It was not "extremely callous," it was criminal.
Fire him, sue him into poverty, and make him homeless.

People are being fired outright from their jobs over comments about an extremist right-wing pod caster they made on-line. And not just fired from MSNBC either.

This is complete BS and Fox needs to be held accountable for fomenting violence.
