Trump administration halts research to help babies with heart defects

For James Antaki, a biomedical engineering professor at Cornell University, the $6.7 million government grant meant babies would be saved. Awarded by the Department of Defense on March 30, it would allow his team at Cornell to ramp up production and testing of PediaFlow, a device that boosts blood flow in infants with heart defects.

A week later, that all changed.

The Defense Department sent Antaki a stop-work order on April 8 informing him that his team wouldn’t get the money, intended to be distributed over four years. Three decades of research is now at risk, and Antaki said he has no idea why the government cut off funding.

“I feel that it’s my calling in life to complete this project,” he said Friday, in his first news interview since losing funding. “Once a week, I go through this mental process of, ‘Is it time to give up?’ But it is not my prerogative to give up.” Neither the Defense Department nor the White House press office responded to requests for comment.

We are seeing more and more who had really not tuned into the 5-alarm fire brought on by the stochastic terrorists who were elected to office. That group then appointed sadists to positions within the government with the intent to destroy it from within. And destroy it they have. The fact that we have held on even this long is a testament to the robustness of the civil service system but it can't last much longer under this type of assault.

Why was this a Defense Department project to begin with? Nt lostnfound May 10 #4
I'm not sure why, but this isn't the first seemingly non-defense-related research project I've seen generalbetrayus May 10 #6
If these were fetuses with heart defects, they would be tripling the grant. generalbetrayus May 10 #5

Just as I'm sure they don't care about Americans -- or just anybody around the world -- dying. Their actions clearly show this.

I'm supposing they don't care because their billionaire owners see an unsustainable future with the world's population continuing to grow, so they're for weeding out the less fortunate among us. This is one end goal of their cruelty.

in the Defense Department budget. I've always assumed they have been inserted into the massive Defense Department budget by individual congresscritters where they are easier to hide and harder to delete.

Once you're born, baby, you're on your own.
