'I can't recover like I used to': Trump FBI appointee tries to get ahead of NYT 'expose'

Source: Raw Story

April 19, 2025 10:01PM ET

A Donald Trump FBI appointee is trying to get out in front of a New York Times "expose" about him. Dan Bongino, who walked away from his lucrative job as a far-right podcaster and apologist for the president to accept the job of deputy FBI director, has recently come under fire from MAGA and has been forced to defend himself from his own allies.

On Saturday, however, Bongino turned his attention toward the media. Taking to social media, Bongino wrote, "FYI, Adam Goldman of the NY Times is getting ready to run another one of their 'journalism' expose pieces about me spending time in our FBI training facility ground fighting with our dedicated and skilled defensive tactics instructors."

"Their big news 'hook' is that after a solid few rounds of grappling, I injured my shoulder," he then added. "Because it's Adam Goldman, you can generally assume he's wrong, and he is, again. The instructor I was grappling with got the best of me, because he's incredibly talented. That's why he's there. And it was my not an 'injury' but a bit of swelling in my right elbow, not shoulder, because I'm 50 years old and I can't recover like I used to."

Bongino then concluded, "But I felt it was important to get on the mats any way, because that's what men do. But Adam doesn't know much about that. And he never will. Because he's Adam, from the NY Times. Thanks, Dan."

That quote will be enough for Bongino to win back the dumbfuck trump supporters. And as bad as he may be, Bongino won't end up killing nearly as many Americans as will RFK jr.'s health policies.

According to a report from The Buwark's Will Sommer, things have not gone well for the normally abrasive Bongino who has been asking for patience as supporters of the president demand scalps for the way the Trump was treated by the agency that stretched from the Russia investigation in 2016 to the president's involvement in the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol building.

(snip)

According to Sommer, Bongino –– as well as Patel –- is taking heat from the MAGA faithful for being all talk and no action. "Since being sworn in, he has spent a remarkable amount of time in the public conversation, trying to calm his social media skeptics. His pleas for patience come amid growing frustration among the MAGA grassroots over the job he and FBI Director Kash Patel are doing," he wrote before adding, "The problem with being a major law enforcement official is that people may expect you to, ya know, solve crimes, like the string of swattings in March targeting right-wing influencers."

Case in point, Sommer reported, was rightwing victims of swatting feeling the FBI is dragging its feet when it comes to investigations with one victim, influencer Larry Taunton, joined by another victim, Infowars personality Owen Shroyer, complaining, "I keep seeing a lot of tough-talking tweets. In the amount of time it takes to prepare a tweet, one could pick up the phone and give people like me or Owen [Shroyer] a phone call.”

The report adds, "In Bongino’s case, his audience has been told for years that prominent liberals and deep-state operatives have committed blatant crimes against the Trump family that should be easy to prosecute. Yet no top Democrats have been indicted, leading Trump fans to believe Bongino is falling down on the job."

(snip)

It seems to be similar to our frustration with "strongly worded letters" but no "frog marching" (yet).

Maybe there are no prosecutions because Bongino was horseshitting his audience for years and there were no crimes.

and now he's been "outed" by the recipients of his pile of hockey pucks .

(this is why in the past, NONE of them opted to actually work for the government because these gasbags knew what they were spouting was nothing but "lies for listeners" ).

Has he begun grappling with the female agents yet? I should think that as a normal MAGA male that this opportunity would be high on his list.

That would be "leering", "groping", and then "raping" because "that's what (MAGA) men do".

In fact, he just sounds like a pathetic whiner who ends up bringing more attention to his embarrassing failure to bring off a PR coup for himself in which he attempted to display a manly ability to engage in martial arts with a military instructor.

When I think back on my 50s I was in the process of rehabbing the house u live in now.

Including rebuilding walls and sanding plaster and painting. No aches and pains different than I had in my 30s.

He's just out of shape. He wasn't doing " what men do" for a while it sounds like.

A 'bit of swelling' in the arm after some mutual manly grunt-thrusting IS an indication of injury. It doesn't cost you your swollen blue balls to admit it.
