President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced a 90-day pause on the full effect of his new tariffs for at least some countries.
Trump also said that he was raising the tariffs imposed on imports from China to 125% “effective immediately” due to the “lack of respect that China has shown to the World’s Markets.”

He put the tariff on those countries, then took the tariff off "because they didn't retaliate." There were no benefits gained, we just went back to the starting place for those countries before he decided to mess with them.

Tariffs on China will be increased to 125% from 104%, he said.
Trump in a Truth Social post Wednesday said he has “authorized a 90 day PAUSE, and a substantially lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period, of 10%, also effective immediately.”
“Based on the lack of respect that China has shown to the World’s Markets, I am hereby raising the Tariff charged to China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately,” Trump said in his social media post. “At some point, hopefully in the near future, China will realize that the days of ripping off the U.S.A., and other Countries, is no longer sustainable or acceptable,” he wrote.
The higher tariffs on China came after Beijing announced new retaliatory tariffs on the United States to take effect on Thursday. The Trump administration has taken particular aim at China’s trade practices.

It's pretty clear that the insane Turd has irreparably angered our friends and allies and our enemies all over the world. The anger and ill will which this has caused not to mention the tens of trillions of dollars lost on the U.S. markets, on the European markets and the Asian markets is almost incalculable. This, I think, pretty much guarantees an economic Recession -- all caused by the insane Turd and the Turd alone. I wonder what those MAGATs are going to think in August when it is time to purchase new school clothes for their kids -- assuming that they will still be able to afford the prices in the grocery stores. Panic will soon be in the air all across the land.
The U.S. doesn't "own the means of production" for all the imported "consumer" shit which is sold in Walmart, Costco, Dollar stores, Sam's Club and all the other "discount" stores in every small town and city all across the U.S. which "consumer" shit is produced in China and Bangladesh and Vietnam and South Korea and India and in a myriad of other countries. We, the U.S., is screwed because of monumental greed, the Republican Nazi Party greed, which pushed for the "outsourcing" and "offshoring" of our manufacturing in order to use cheap labor, and the greed of maximum corporate profits which came from that offshoring of US manufacturing. See, the Raygun Party's tax changes which gave "tax credits" and "tax breaks" for "outsourcing" and "offshoring" of US manufacturing to use the cheap labor for corporate profits. Those changes were legislative by Republican Congresses. You will find them in the Treasury Regulations to the Internal Revenue Code and in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR's). See, those same "greed" changes in the legislative and tax policies of the Bu$h Administrations and the Republican Congresses. The chickens have now come home to roost after those racist, brain-dead, Fascist idiots put an crimimal rapist moron, Old, senile, rotting Pumpkin Head, back into the Presidency.
