Activist Headquarters
Related: About this forumIn the spirit of sharing here, I just fired off 8 email responses to Dems soliciting donations & will keep doing so.
I responded to email solicitations from
David Martin & the DNC, David Hogg,
the DLCC, The Democrats,
State Democrats, Wes Moore,
Hakeem Jeffries, and JB Pritzker.
Of course I copy/pasted and personalized a template from one of my posts here.
If you're inclined to do the same, please do. It can't hurt to get the message out, and who knows, maybe it will help them see what Dems on the ground are wanting them to take action on. Just sayin'. Here are two versions, with wording appropriate to the receiver...
To the Honorable Gov JB Pritzker:
At this point in the election cycle, donors need to push hard on the Democratic blue states and their governors -- and the DGA -- to redistrict by any means necessary to get new seats in the US House.
That's where I think donations should be spent. When? Before the 2026 midterms.
Here's WHY:
1. What Gov Gavin Newsom does is what Democratic Party leaders, governors, and DGA should DO to redistrict blue states.
Tens of thousands -- I daresay even millions -- of Democrats on the ground know that the Democratic Party and its affiliates are not fighting "the Newsom way."
But you all MUST. WHY?
2. Because this is the Bannon/Trump playbook into 2026 and 2028, quoted here. Sound familiar?
"1. Sending federal police, the National Guard, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to occupy liberal cities like an invading army.
2. Seeking to ban mail-in voting.
3. Pushing for unprecedented, mid-decade Congressional redistricting efforts.
4. Attempting to purge voter rolls and suppress turnout by requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections.
5. Calling for a mid-decade census that would exclude people in the United States without authorization, which experts have argued would be unconstitutional..."

3. BECAUSE REPUBLICANS ARE NOT STOPPING WITH TEXAS.
After TX's 5 new seats, Indiana, Missouri, South Carolina, Florida, and Ohio can and likely WILL do the same,
adding 6 more = 11 R seats in the US House.
4. HERE'S WHERE DEMOCRATIC PARTY GOVERNORS AND AFFILIATES NEED TO PUT DEMOCRATIC DONORS' MONEY:
WHILE California is adding 5 new seats, Blue states must not passively sit by, but must expedite new redistricting by any means necessary.
IL can add 2; NY can add 4, CO can add 2, NJ can add 1-2,
adding 8 more = 14 D seats in the US House.
These are other blue states besides CA, IL, and NY:
in NJ, there are 9 (D)s & 3 (R)s,
in WA, there are 8 (D)s & 2 (R)s,
in MD, there 7 (D)s & 1 (R),
in OR, there are 5 (D)s & 1 (R), and
CO has a split of 4 (D)s & 4 (R)s.
Given the actual math for redistricting and winning the midterms, Serious Question:
What does this RW playbook mean to the minority Democratic Party's leaders? Does it matter to you? For the sake of future generations, it should. Because it gravely matters to small Democratic donors.
5. No more "lessons learned." IT'S TIME TO ACT. TO DO.
WHAT WILL THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY AND ITS GOVERNORS DO IN 2025-2026?
For the record and from now on...
-- the Democratic Party and its governors across states -- especially governors in red states -- cannot be caught up short by the Bannon/Trump playbook.
-- the Party and governors cannot say -- if they ever did -- that they did not know this midterm and GE right wing timeline in advance.
Feel free to inform Democrats -- I know thousands of them across all 50 states -- about what Democratic governors' and the DGA's efforts are doing to MOVE BLUE STATES TO REDISTRICT.
Why? So that donors will be motivated to donate more.

======================== Version for other email solicitors...
To Hakeem Jeffries:
As a fellow Democrat and full donor to Obama, I strongly urge you and other Democratic leaders and party affiliates to prioritize and focus your fights for more House seats for 'We The People' Democratic voters all over America.
Arguably (and no offense intended), though ActBlue may need donors, right now it can fend for itself without your consulting or paid endorsement.

I don't know if 45 minutes of this work qualifies as "activist," but I'm hoping it qualifies as voter effort.
If you're inclined to send stuff like this to party emails, feel free. Winning is worth any effort, imo.
