https://www.nokings.org/?SQF_SOURCE=indivisibleThis is expanding to Europe now. By June 14th millions will be marching against tRump.
This is our country and we do not have kings!
"America, we dont do kings!
Theyve defied our courts, deported Americans, disappeared people off the streets, attacked our civil rights, and slashed our services. The corruption has gone too. far. No thrones. No crowns. No kings."
About No Kings
On June 14Flag DayDonald Trump wants tanks in the street and a made-for-TV display of dominance for his birthday. A spectacle meant to look like strength. But real power isnt staged in Washington. It rises up everywhere else.
No Kings is a nationwide day of defiance. From city blocks to small towns, from courthouse steps to community parks, were taking action to reject authoritarianismand show the world what democracy really looks like.
Were not gathering to feed his ego. Were building a movement that leaves him behind.
The flag doesnt belong to Donald Trump. It belongs to us. Were not watching history happen. Were making it.
On June 14th, were showing up everywhere he isntto say no thrones, no crowns, no kings.

(17,999 posts)It would be great fun to see magats try to disable theirs!
Anyway, worth doing before they do???
I just replaced mine and I know how, but better to let magats stew.
I'll delete if this idea is a dud.

(53,072 posts)You need to enlarge/expand the map since it is so big. Go to the link and the map is there with dots showing the events. Manipulate the map to show the whole planet, not just the US.
They are in these cities I just looked at on the map...
Edinburgh UK, London England, Hamburg Germany, Paris France, Friebeurg Switzerland, Florence Italy, Montpellier France and Barcelona Spain.

(10,391 posts)how they would handle that.
Thanks for posting. I have been posting the NoKings event every three days since they opened it. I think what you did posting the title with 1000 + events grabbed a lot of people..

(53,072 posts)I hope the US media covers this massive protest but I doubt it. The one on April 5th (HANDS OFF) had over 1,200 protests and 5.2 million protesters and the only media coverage was from Rachel Maddow. A few days later PBS picked up on it...too late to the party guys!
Of course this is NO surprise to us. MSM = $$$$$$$$$

(53,072 posts)The link in the OP says.....
"Instead of allowing this birthday parade to be the center of gravity, we will make action everywhere else the story of America that day: people coming together in communities across the country to reject strongman politics and corruption.
For that reason, NO KINGS is not hosting an event in Washington, D.C. We will instead have a major flagship march and rally in Philadelphia to draw a clear contrast between our people-powered movement and the costly, wasteful, and un-American birthday parade in Washington. You can RSVP for the Philadelphia event here.
For participants in the D.C. area, we encourage you to join us in Philadelphia, find a local NO KINGS mobilization in Virginia or Maryland, or join our partners at Free D.C. for DC J
Day, a community-led event in the District.
A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events."

Every DUer who can, please attend one of these events and bring your friends & family if possible!

(53,072 posts)I am a trained illustrator and teacher and I have spent hours and hours on each sign for each protest. Since I started I perfected a way to "cut and paste" my "old" signs sort of like an envelope going over the original sign with a 1" dowel attached so it is a double sided sign and it doesn't hurt your hands. Since my area gets windy a 1" dowel helps my hands a lot.
