Bobby Pardue wins election as next mayor of Westover

WESTOVER – Bobby Pardue will serve as the next mayor of the city of Westover after winning 62 percent of the vote in the 2025

Municipal Election. According to the unofficial poll results for the Tuesday, Aug. 26 election, Pardue received 91 votes, while his opponent, Wayne Jones, received 55 votes at 38 percent. Candidate Seddrick Hill, Sr. withdrew prior to the election.

“(I) wanted to thank everyone for your support and faith in me to serve as mayor of Westover,” Pardue said in an official Facebook post the night of the election. “Going into this race, my prayer has been ‘If it’s God’s will for me to serve, He will make a way.’ I’ll do my very best for our city, thanks to my wife Tracy Gardner Pardue, family and church family for your support.”

Pardue succeeds Larry Riggins as mayor after Riggins announced his decision not to seek reelection after serving two terms in the position.
