CA-11: Pelosi event nets Chan $100K for congressional campaign

Congressional candidate Connie Chan, who is facing off against state Sen. Scott Wiener for the seat Nancy Pelosi is vacating, raked in more than $100,000 last week at a fundraiser hosted by the speaker emerita, The Standard has learned the latest sign that Pelosis May endorsement of the Board of Supervisors member has become a crucial weapon in the closely watched race.
The event, held July 7 in the Jackson Square neighborhood, featured former Mayor Willie Brown, former Supervisor Sophie Maxwell, Pelosis daughter Christine Pelosi, labor leader Larry Mazzola Jr., former firefighters union chief Sam Gebler, and former California Secretary of State Kevin Shelley.
