The 22nd amendment's exact wording is as follows: No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice... . It says nothing about serving out the term, just that no person shall be elected more than twice.
Therefore if we indulge that bloviating, incandescent orange son-of-a-bitch and concede that he actually won in 2020, then his victories in 2016 and 2020 would constitute his two elections to office, thus rendering his election to office in 2024 invalid.
We then give him 30 days to move the fuck out. Put Vance in as POTUS per the constitution and develop strategies to counter that uncharismatic, alleged couch fucker.

(8,107 posts)What in anything you have seen over the last 10 years makes you believe appeasing Trump will get you anything but more Trump? He will simply say he didnt get to be POTUS so it doesnt count. He doesnt care about the Constitution and SCOTUS has more often than not sided with him.
Might want to rethink this one.

(3,838 posts)Of course such a thing would never work. I posted it for amusement or a bit of fantasy.
I was hoping that commenters would recognize it as such and pile on with some snark or extensions of the absurd proposal, or just read it and move on with an eye roll or a snort.

(8,107 posts)It's at least useful as a disorienting rhetorical argument to those who posit that Trump won in 2020, kinda akin to agreeing that we have been at war with Iran since 1979 thus rendering Reagan guilty of treason due to his sales of arms to Iran in the 80s.
