How Much Oil Does The US Really Have In Its SPR

How much oil does the US really have in our Strategic Petroleum Reserve?

We supposedly had 400 million barrels of oil, but Krasnov blew through 100 million barrels which should leave us with 300 million barrels, right? Maybe.

Those 300 million barrels are being stored in 4 salt caverns in Louisiana and Texas. The oil must be treated with chemicals to keep it viable.
Some of that oil has been in those caverns for decades. Just sayin' you know with all the cut backs and what not.

If Krasnov drains away our SPR you ain't seen nothing yet for the price of gas.

There are no chemical mechanisms to support the crude oil goes "bad" in storage.
There are some chemicals added but those are to protect pipelines, valves, flow controls, and pumps. There are aggressive sulfur compounds (liquid & gas) in crude oil that can be quite hard on metals.
The while article is based on a premise not supported by chemistry; while actually daring to mention the complex "science" involved.
Simple logic should suffice. The petroleum is already 50 to 100 million years old! What would a few extra weeks, months or even years matter?
The concern about the reserve is valid. The reasons, couched as "science" are not valid.

We go through the black gold at more than 20 million barrels per day.

Dipshit is going through the stash that would last less than a month, max.

Soon, he'll wish he'd told Uday and Qutr to invest in wind and solar.

Ha ha. It is to laugh.
