If anyone thinks the murder of two innocent, legal immigrants, who were not the subject of a warrant or investigation, being executed on the street, in broad daylight, were accidents, you haven't been paying attention.
This is a terror campaign plain and simple. It is engineered to create fear and uncertainty and to get immigrants, legal or not, to leave the country, that is their objective.
As a side note, the World Cup is still going on and they have murdered two people in cold blood.
That isn't an accident either.
White nationalist have seized our country.

(139 posts)And when all of the (alleged) illegal (or even legal green-card-holding) immigrants are gone (deported as alive) or otherwise borked, who will perform the laborious tasks they accomplished each and every day without compromise or complaint (?).
Let us not forget, they also Paid Taxes...

These racist thieves rapists and murderers will never face justice.

(77 posts)What gets me is the number of latinos and blacks working for ICE, actively participating in the brutality, sort of pulling the ladder up behind them.

(37,869 posts)It's a rough economy with a lot of people laid off and/or not even being able to afford much even if they work full time. Especially now with the increased prices of such basics as gas and food.
I have heard here in TX that most Latinos have had it. They voted big for Trump in 2024, because they thought he would be better on the economy, and would only go after "illegals". Instead, he is just full-scale pulling people off the street, especially if they have brown skin, whether they are technically here with papers or not.

(70,324 posts)As a gay woman I could be surprised that so many women - and quite a few gay folk - participate in Trump's administration but I'm not surprised.
Some people make evil choices. Some people feel desperate and make forced choices. Those are universal human traits and conditions.

(35,159 posts)It's interesting that the latest location is Maine. I caught a few minutes of Rachel's show and she showed how quickly the crime scene was cleared and cleaned. For a brief moment I wondered... did they activate an ice THUG to kill someone on purpose?
But why are they doing this? There's no upside to killing and terrorizing people. Our reputation is destroyed. Our economy is plummeting. And why are they so hell bent on kicking people out when we're not reproducing enough people? They're getting rid of our best advantage. Dumb hateful fucks.

(37,869 posts)for a while now, but under Trump's second term it seems to be the norm and it's intentional. They want to scare people, so they don't resist. It's a lot easier to accomplish a coup that way. And this is a coup. Soft at this point, but certainly not non-violent.
This country has had a run of 250 years - we'll see what happens in the next couple years. Nature taking its course is probably what we can hope for w/Trump, he does not look well. But I'm also not convinced he's the main problem. The billionaires (esp. folks like Thiel w/his penchant for buying politicians like JD Vance), the Heritage Foundation (Vought & Miller), and their base (evangelicals) - are still all going to be there. They are determined to have their Christian Nationalism. I believe they are a minority in this country, but so far they've been pretty successful.
