image. .Does anybody know the brand? I am curious about the label/tag/whatever below the last button. One does not normally see labels/tags in such places.
We won't even go into the many things wrong with that image, although a DU'er did do an ai scan on it, says it is not ai.

(135,904 posts)and we do not know what kind of tag it is.
highplainsdem
(64,004 posts)one tag is horizontal and the other is vertical. I also saw photos of vintage RL shirts where instead of a care tag, it was a tag with Ralph Lauren's name. So the type of tag varied.
The point is that old shirts often had tags there, as the people answering on Facebook explained. The brand isn't important.
This tag isn't something that suggests, let alone proves, that the photo is fake.

(135,904 posts)internet sleuths are now saying the image is three years old). I specifically asked if anyone knew the brand of shirt, since it was not one with which I am familiar. Please do not attribute to me, and then correct me about, things I did not write.

(64,004 posts)immediately followed by a sentence about the many things wrong with the image, suggesting you thought the placement of the tag was the most obvious and that was why you were curious about the brand. It didn't sound like curiosity about McConnell's fashion sense. Just the tag placement.
As for the internet sleuths who supposedly discovered the photo is three years old - I haven't seen any evidence yet that it's three years old. No links to an earlier photo.

(4,437 posts)Someone on DU posted a fake 2003 photo of Mitch and Elaine Chao sitting beside a pool, exactly matching the pose and lighting from the hospital photo. The spurious claim was that this proved the hospital photo was a fake.
It IS obvious that the photos are a match, but the lighting for the hospital photo is realistic. There's a strong left side light source that is consistent with a nearby window.
That same lighting is present in the photo of them sitting outside on a sunny day. It's completely inconsistent with the lighting you would actually get from the sun. Even an umbrella or veranda covering would not create that lighting.
