(10,276 posts)Make out of it what you will but for me a republican politician dying getting 6x the coverage than a Democratic one being stopped by armed terrorists and then armed military of a supposed ally nation is a much bigger deal.

(174,370 posts)and that had been his fever dream for decades (along with John McCain). I.e., to "bomb Iran" and do a "regime change" .

(10,276 posts)Israel hasn't wanted to bomb Iran for decades and do a regime change? Are you seriously saying that Israel, who actually attacked Iran is less of an influence on the war on Iran than Graham?

(174,370 posts)I am just now catching up with replies.
The subject that you are bringing up has generally been posted in the I/P group and for a reason. The current events have had this subject spill out into the regular forums but it's a fine line on whether posting such violates the SOPs for the "big forums".
MY reply was to focus on why Graham became "the news of the day" (which ended up overlapped with McConnell's drama). I linked to what I posted with respect to Khanna's experience to indicate that it WAS posted *somewhere*.
I post news on a WIDE variety of subjects that fit within the Democratic party platform for interest.
In other words, I am not a "1-trick pony".
I try to post "news" IN LBN (which has a "no duplicates" policy), where most on DU are posting "news" in General Discussion because naturally that is where most of the readers are and the posting criteria is not as restrictive.
There was another article I saw not long after I posted that OP, about the West Bank Settlers apparently going after some reporters as well (including a CNN reporter IIRC). If I had posted that too, I would have been alert-stalked and had my thread locked as a dupe.
I try to "add value" to my LBN posts with press releases, links to court cases, statements, reports, journal publications, and related social media content when included in the source article, as well as including links to previous OPs on the subject matter that I grab via Advanced Search for background.
In other words, I try to avoid the "hit and run" stuff that seems to be far too common here.
Maybe you should take the time to do the same.

(174,370 posts)by generating a diversionary strawman that had nothing to do with Graham.
What is happening in the West Bank with its occupation by Israel and most recently the settlers' incident with Khanna, is a whole other issue that has gone on for decades, and apparently all you want to do is stitch together some kind of argument about a whole other subject that belongs in I/P.
You didn't even bother to post about it here - https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=forum&id=1134
Probably because that's not your modus operandi.

(20,082 posts)yes, Graham dying isn't bad news, but it isn't good either....there is almost no good news to be found in this country right now, outside of the occasional "lost dog returned to joyful family" story.
