What are the chances that Scott Jennings loses his job if it turns out he's lying about McConnell.

I was thinking about that this morning and researched what happened to Dan Rather when he used information regarding George Bush's time in the Reserves, which the final summation on the internet claims was faulty. I'm not here to debate the quality of the information, though I know in my heart that Dan Rather was a reporter with integrity and if he used faulty information he did it unknowingly.

On the other hand, Scott Jennings is out there allegedly slinging porkers. If he lied about talking to McConnell, his job should be on the line. But I realized that FoxNews is not a TV Station with integrity, so I figured nothing would come out of it, even if he intentionally lied.

But, there is one hope, that maybe I'm wrong:

Ex-GOP strategist demands CNN fire Scott Jennings if McConnell story unravels

A former Republican operative on Friday warned CNN conservative pundit Scott Jennings that he could lose his job if his claims about Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) prove false.

After video footage obtained by CNN showed an ambulance loading the Republican lawmaker inside — nearly a month after he was first hospitalized — Cheri Jacobus suggested that CNN should take action against Jennings, who claimed that he spoke to McConnell Tuesday for about 17 minutes.

"If @ScottJenningsKY is proven to have lied about having a nearly 20 minute phone conversation with McConnell, @cnn needs to fire him immediately," Jacobus wrote on X.

Jennings told CNN anchor Kasie Hunt that the senator, whom he has known since he was a teenager, was speaking to him on the phone during the apparent call. He described it as a "wide-ranging conversation" about Iran, and his "voice sounded strong."

It will be interesting to find out what the deal really is with McConnell. Of course, he should have retired before this latest term.

He is a great example of why there should be term limits or at least a maximum age limit (70?) for members of Congress.

as part of journalistic reporting they pay him to do could tell us something. I can’t imagine now even he could walk back something like that.

it will open up an investigation in to this phenomenon of right-wing influencers who actually get paid to lie?

This way Jennings is protected and McConnell is still braindead.

Everyone that lied said they'd talked with him for 20 about minutes. So it's clear they were all following the same instructions.

But just where did those instructions come from? What idiot made up that number for them to all repeat without realizing what it would do? Was it:

a) someone on McConnell's staff?
b) someone at the state GOP?
c) McConnell's wife?
d) his handler at the Chinese Ministry of State Security (MSS)?
e) some AI agent they've had running the GOP for the last several years?
f) QAnon?
g) Steven Cheung (Trump's communications director)?
h) the traitor rapist felon himself?

I know Trump gets blamed for a lot these days, but I'm going with the felon! It just seems like the others would all know better, even the hallucinating AI agent.

Republicans have been getting good practice in protecting members of Congress with their silence.

First it was Thomas Kean of New Jersey and now McConnell.
