(26,571 posts)senators (GOP) and his staff are all foaming at the mouth that each and everyone of them had seen/visited w/ Mitch in the last several days (over the phone, perhaps via texting, etc.).
Something really is going on here ... perhaps in a coma, perhaps near death, perhaps unconscious and laying in a hospital bed, but the point is, why aren't they telling the rest of us that? Obviously, w/ his seat at play (which means that we're looking at a coma or worse situation for Mitch), and a replacement must be/can be picked by the governor or the other alternative (if they fart around too long), throw his replacement into the hat ring to replace his GOP slot.
Mitch owes us this spot. He snookered us for the US Supreme Court slot(s), and so we deserve some sort of compensation for it in a way. The repugs won't appreciate this sentiment but then, I don't give a rat's a&& what they want/appreciate.

On second thought, they don't care about the law either, so they must be getting paid to lie about it.
Money does seem to motivate them.

(43,351 posts)Nobody is representing them even though they've paid McConnell's way all these years. On top of that, the Repukes want to cheat the voters out of the opportunity to select his replacement/fill-in to finish out the term.
Whomever gets the nod from Governor Beshear (assuming it happens next month) will still need to run for re-election in November because Mitch's term ends this December. The interim appointee will certainly have a head start against any other potential candidate.
This all just stinks!
