Joy Reid urges voters to sit out the election if the DNC puts up someone who doesn't share Platner's ideology

It's getting clearer and clearer that the progressives would rather Republicans keep getting elected, than vote for "moderate" Democrats.
AIPAC seems to be a huge issue for them too.
No wonder Trump is the President and the Republicans have control of the Senate and the House.

This is not the time to sit out the election. In fact, I would argue there's never a time to sit out any election EVER, but especially this one. We are fighting for our lives here. Republicans must be defeated at every level if we are to survive as a country.

Kindly shut your pie hole, Joy Reid.

And for what it's worth, this Progressive most definitely would NOT rather Republicans keep getting elected than vote for a "moderate" Democrat. I haven't missed an election since I first voted in 1972 and I have always voted for the Democratic candidate in every general election. Please don't paint us all with the same brush.

Most, from what I can gather, are saying Maine voters voted for the platform and policies of Graham Platner. Replacing him with a centrist moderate is not what voters in the state want. I think that's rather Captain Obvious stuff but it's also very valid. I think he'll likely be replaced by someone who is very close in policy.

I favor the Progressive worldview, and I'm probably twice your age, but getting Republicans out of power in both the House AND the Senate should be the most important thing on your mind right now, NOT insisting that perfection be the enemy of good. That's the ONLY way we'll be able to work toward a more progressive future. You can't drive from the back seat cage of a Republican cruiser.
There are no miracles in this life, and change on this scale takes time; time we will not have if anyone listens to you.

While it's true that this is a decision for Maine voters, they, and everyone else weighing in on this critical election, must remember that a senator works for the people of his or her state, but their decisions invariably affect the entire country.
At the moment, Republican majorities in both Houses of Congress, however thin they may be, work only for the Orange Lump stinking up the Oval Office with his flatulence, and he's already shown that he intends to destroy any and every government agency that even hints at doing good for anyone but him and his fellow thieving traitors. If they're not fluffing Trump, they're conducting Culture Wars, the results of which, again, only further Trump's unspeakably evil agenda.
Fuck 'em all with a fencepost, sideways.

We need every seat we can get get. If that means means nominating a moderate so be it. As a lefty I've voted for them plenty of times. It doesn't hurt I promise. With democracy on the line it's irresponsible to tell people not to vote. She has no more say in this than Platner did. I'm very disappointed in Joy.

It's getting clearer and clearer that the progressives would rather Republicans keep getting elected, than vote for "moderate" Democrats.
I've been on the progressive side of the Democratic Party since I started voting in 1976, and I will ALWAYS vote for D over R, even if a moderate comes out on top over my favored progressive candidate in the primary.

Because the Republican is always worse.

Of course, I speak only for myself, as does Joy Reid.

Also, of course, there are some progressives who agree with her.

However, if such a thing can be determined, I would bet more progressives agree with me -- especially now that control of the House and/or Senate could make the difference between democracy or fascism -- that getting souls to the polls to put D's in seats is an overriding priority.
