Havens is no stranger to alleged misconduct. However, throughout multiple accusations and the cases that followed, Havens was cleared of wrongdoing each time.
In January 2021, he was named in a civil suit seeking $2 million after he and other officers allegedly assaulted her and her sons, ages 10 and 20, during a raid of their home in the 2800 block of Linn Street.
"Racial animus" was named a factor in Haven's behavior during the raid, wherein he and other officers allegedly threatened to kill the plaintiff's 10-year-old son.
Over two years later, in July 2023, a federal judge ruled in favor of Havens and the WBP officers, saying the plaintiff's constitutional rights were not violated during the raid.
Also in July 2023, accusations of Havens planting drugs during a 2019 investigation were cleared by a federal judge, too.
