I can start by telling you who my audience is not.
It is NOT you.
It is NOT the pundit class that rarely leaves the safety of its Georgetown cocktail parties.
It is NOT the chattering class who gets paid to pretend it knows the mind of the American people.
It is NOT for anyone who looks at everything through the lens of politics.
The people I am talking to are tired of the bullshit.
The people I want to speak with are the 50 million Americans still sick and suffering. The families fighting for the lives of the those they love.
Whether they are people living in the shame and fear of being canceled, or consumed by grief after the loss of someone they love, they are just looking for a slight glimmer of hope that they too can get back up again.
My audience is the people who feel unheard, unseen, and uninvited, just like me.
My audience also includes my perceived enemies, those pitted against me by you and your colleagues in the media. I want to meet them where they are and help build a bridge. A bridge built of that which connects all of us. Thats where we begin to actually heal.
And its not as if my intent is difficult to understand or discern. Just read and listen to what I have said on this platform, and the 18+ hours of unscripted pod casts I have done.
I think your shock as to why anyone would care says far more about you than it does about me. Take a look at the comments to your post.
And I also know this: people are tired of the bullshit. Theyre tired of you and the chattering classes obsession with my family as Rome burns.
So instead of wondering why people care about what I have to say, Chris, maybe you should concern yourself with why no one cares anymore about what you and everyone you represent has to say.

(13,553 posts)Who cares about his re-emergence? Nobody. I would much rather hear from Hunter than him, never liked him when he was on CNN, don't like him now.

(3,244 posts)I mean, he's a whole lot less relevant to notional news than Hunter Biden is.
Probably 50% of the country can say who Hunter Biden is.
It couldn't be 1 in 1000 who has ever heard of this Cizilla character.

(14,362 posts)He was one of the chattering class that was vehement about Biden stepping down in 2024 and doesn't want to hear anything from the Bidens. So what's bothering him? Maybe all the negative opinion press at that time helped Trump defeat Harris. Maybe he feels a little bit responsible for all that has happened since.

(8,234 posts)He has a real problem with Democrats. He was fired from the Washington Post for a sexist video attacking Hillary Clinton.

Someone has to be really dense to ask an insulting question like that on a world platform.
Just thought he'd pile on the anti-Hunter Biden bandwagon?

But *this* Hunter Biden? Im really digging the shitposter. Bout time someone fearlessly stood up to the fascists and their enablers. A+

(53,893 posts)His memoir "Beautiful Things" was remarkable and heart wrenching. Nothing I have ever read captured the experience of being an addict quite like Hunter did. It took a lot of tissue to get through it though.

(17,698 posts)Its ironic how ready these right wingers are to toss people permanently on the trash heap of history, regardless of what theyve been through or how far theyve come.
Arrogance breaks laws and hearts crimes against others but it also disconnects us from the deep waters of our own humanity, a crime against oneself. To see ones flaws is humbling. To see someone who was so lost rediscover the path to decency, to joy, to their own humanity is a cause for rejoicing.

I like those who are really captured by the fervor of speaking truth to power. You go, Hunter. You speak for me.

(13,412 posts)Cilllizza is the classic supercilious pundit endemic of the rot in Washington that is tearing apart our country.
Bravo to Hunter for speaking up on his own behalf and on the behalf of millions of Americans who are routinely marginalized and ignored by Cillizza and his ilk.

(3,794 posts)It's an utterly pointless statement. People can go online and say anything they want. One doesn't have to be asked for their opinions before they proffer them.
"Who asked for this? Who wants it?" What an asshole. I'd like Cillizza to answer the question of who asked for his opinions.

(173,494 posts)Hunter has been a political football punted around by rightwing assholes for years - they expected him to hide in the shadow in shame - instead, he did the right thing - bided his time, wrote a book and then when MAGAt world started its inevitable derailment, he POUNCED......not only is it excellent timing, he's GREAT at what he is doing. LOVE IT.

(4,926 posts)Maybe it's because Cillizza's been demoted to blogger and needs to rustle up some attention by creating drama by cynically misrepresenting the motivations of someone who has done a lot of work on redeeming themselves after being dragged in the media for the damage he's done mostly to himself. No one in any future election cycle is going to figure Hunter Biden into their vote. What people are concerned about are things Cillizza isn't talking about in this bitchy little clip. But Chris probably has no new take on any of that so he throws Hunter in the mix to try to stand out. Just strange.
