The Pentagon’s systems detected an ‘air quality issue’

The Pentagon is on lockdown, and some have been evacuated, as a hazmat team rushes to the defense facility.

Multiple areas inside the facility, located just outside of Washington, D.C., were locked down while some people were evacuated, according to CNN reporter Haley Britzky. Systems in the building "detected an air quality issue necessitating precautionary measures until we determine its significance,” a Pentagon spokesperson told her.

The Arlington County Fire Department also confirmed its hazmat team is responding to an ongoing “hazardous materials incident.”
