the fretting about Villegas as Dem nominee is largely unfounded, imo, considering:
1. Bains was a poor candidate. Those weaknesses would’ve been picked apart in the general
2. Villegas doesn’t have 4 years of a legislative voting record to be picked apart by GOP oppo researchers
3. The moderate ‘Valleycrat’ model hasn’t worked against Valadao cycle after cycle (save for 2018 aberration)
