I think trump's appearance at the Knicks game last night proves he is a jinx and that as the book title goes, "Everything he touches turns to %$#&^."
Prove me wrong. He made the whole experience much less enjoyable for the real fans who were there. He kept the just as real fans who couldn't attend because they couldn't afford tickets from experiencing the watch parties nearby. He made the whole thing about him, and yes I think he contributed to the team's loss. The Knicks had won 13 straight before he showed up!
Beyond that, last night's episode was an exhibition of what trump is doing to our country.
He is taking our country down with him and making everything about him. We were warned about this dynamic when he ran the first time. And who warned us? New Yorkers.
How about a new nickname for trump? Jinx. I think it fits.

I like that kid more and more.

(25,855 posts)No I didn't see that. I'm very much the outsider here, being from CA and having set foot in the state of NY once in my life. But it sounds exactly like what Mamdani would do.

(13,547 posts)Off the hook? It seems he invited him. He did this to his own team. Why?
senseandsensibility
(25,855 posts)because I don't know anything about him or even who he is. Not a sports fan and not a New Yorker. But I'd like to hear the dirt if you've got it.

(13,547 posts)He is a Trump supporter. I mean I could understand if the Spurs owner invited him to disrupt the winning streak but JC their own owner screws them over.
I was not putting this on you, I havent heard anyone in the media mentioning it either.

(25,855 posts)I think it goes over some of our heads because we don't follow sports. My hubby said something similar, but he is a sports fanatic and a onetime sportswriter. Unfortunately, I couldn't follow what he was saying because I don't have the background. Anyway, it is out there to a certain extent because he is reading and hearing about it in sports forums.

(6,643 posts)It is a superstition with no rational basis, at least if taken literally.
As for "Prove me wrong", it is up to the claimant to provide the evidence, not the detractor.
