I said I am boycotting CBS. CBS sporting event will be a sacrifice. Most of the Bengal games I watch are on CBS are re the bulk of the AFC Conference telecasts.
Even though on paper, the Bengals should have a good year, I expect to follow through on the boycott.

(114,747 posts)along with ESPN and a few games on Fox... But, I get it. My next door neighbor was telling me that she can end all CBS except for her favorite soap during the day (Young & the Restless).LOL. I get it. You want to watch what you like to watch, but...
(and yes, she will boycott)

(28,671 posts)As a Chiefs fan, it's going to hurt, but they have games on Sunday night, Monday night and Thursday night that won't be on CBS. For the ones that are, I can listen to them on SiriusXM.

(238 posts)I had Paramount Plus for the sole reason of watching Star Trek and Survivor. I don't have a TV and those were the only two shows I watched. First the producer of Survivor (and The Apprentice) stabbed the country in the back by keeping tapes secret that would have shown trump without his mask on, then Bari Weiss was the last straw.
So, dropping Paramount Plus wasn't just dropping CBS shows, it was dropping the last connection I had to broadcast TV and everything that goes with it.
Kind of shocking since I was raised by the TV.

(1,132 posts)I will likely watch the Bears the few times this year they appear on CBS. I do not purchase anything in ads which accompany football games, nor am I connected to Neilsen or any ratings service, so whether I watch or not doesn't affect anyone.
But I don't watch anything else on CBS, and I don't subscribe to Paramount. So there's that.
Look, I am all in with opposing the corporate overlords who seek to dominate us. But this is football we're talking about! Football is my soma. I pass on most of the circuses but I do love football.
I understand this may make me (even more) unpopular. I'm just being truthful. I am not giving up football because there are evil people taking over my country (okay, there have always been such, but now it looks like they're winning). I don't see how giving up football will help.

I do boycott Amazon even the Thursday night NFL games and even NBA playoff and play-in games even when my Suns were playing.

(801 posts)I go to a local sports bar to watch my favorites. The games will be aired there whether I watch or not and no one would notice if I didnt show. The boycott of paid advertising is a good idea.
