Trump had already moved his own deadline for striking Irans power grid back to April 6, citing progress in negotiationsbut his latest threat suggested those talks were teetering again.
The United States of America is in serious discussions with A NEW, AND MORE REASONABLE, REGIME to end our Military Operations in Iran, Trump wrote. Great progress has been made but, if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached...and if the Hormuz Strait is not immediately Open for Business, we will conclude our lovely stay in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island (and possibly all desalinization plants!).
He added that any such strikes would be in retribution for our many soldiers, and others, that Iran has butchered and killed.
Trumps claim to be dealing with a new Iranian regime refers to the leadership vacuum created by U.S. and Israeli strikes that killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and dozens of senior officials in the opening days of the war.

(4,226 posts)... this psychotic monster from the Oval Office, I fear that someone else will, and probably by extra-judicial means. Though he would certainly deserve it, the good people of America would not deserve the inevitable repercussions.
The ball's in your court, Republicans. For once in your rotten lives, try doing the right thing. Failure to do so will sound the death knell for the Republican Party, as it is relegated to the trash heap of history, where it belongs.
I am so tired of waking up angry. Nah... make that a volcanic rage.

Trump thinks he's better than the brick wall and that by the time of impact, the wall will be the loser, not Trump.
There's no way he can maintain the pace of his first 15 months back in office for another 2-1/3 years.
Something, at some point, will fracture under the stress, and yes...it won't be pretty for the American people.

(113,927 posts)I am so damned tired of his swinging his (eternally limp) lower body part--now accompanied by Hegseth doing the same... As if all in Iran did not have his number every bit as much as Putin does and most of the rest of the world's leadership.
Renew Deal
(85,130 posts)Iran might take that as a good deal. It also signals that he probably has ruled out boots on the ground.
