Shortly after I first joined here, a very kind and generous anonymous person gifted me a star membership

I am still very grateful and appreciative for that.

Eventually that star membership expired and I have been meaning to give something back to this wonderful place that has given me a sense of camaraderie and alleviation in these very difficult dark days.

Watching the kindess this community shows to each other, and the kindness this community has shown to me, I made my overdue contribution today, modest as it may be, to show my gratitude and appreciation, and to share that gratitude and appreciation with this community. I wish I had enough to give each and every one of you a heart. I may not participate in many of the conversations, but I do read a good share of them, and I appreciate the perspectives and views the many members here bring.

I was so grateful to find DU back in the Day. I read about it in the Nation mag.

I bought my first computer just so I could join and start discussing the then current Political Climate, when the SC inserted bush in as "potus".
