The felon is hellbent to pass SAVE. He will try to strongarm Thune into nuking the filibuster.

There is a reason they've pushed a new version of the SAVE act through the House.

The felon is hellbent on doing everything in his power to end free and fair elections in the United States. I have no doubt that getting the SAVE act passed in the Senate is currently his top priority.

The conventional wisdom right now is that the House bill is DOA in the Senate because the Democrats will filibuster it.

We CANNOT bank on that.

I think Trump will pull out all the stops to pressure Thune and other party leaders to nuke the filibuster to get that corrupt law through.

Do not underestimate the regime's determination on this.

As long as our elections are capable of measuring the true will of the American people (even imperfectly), we can thwart their effort reshape the U.S. into the mold of other illiberal democracies.

They know this.

The only way to ensure the SAVE act is truly DOA in the Senate is for constituents to relentlessly lobby their Republican Senators to vote NO. We must successfully peel off enough Republican votes to make an end to the filibuster irrelevant.

You are assuming that Thune's suppoert is the only thing preserving the filibuster Jose Garcia 11 hrs ago #1
True. I still fear that the felon has not completely lost his power to bully/blackmail "his" Senators into compliance. pat_k 11 hrs ago #2

Even if he wanted to end it, he doesn't have the votes. There are at least a few Republicans who realize that they will eventually be in the minority.

I pray that he is truly losing his grip on Republican members of the House and Senate, but something is going on. Pushing this new version of SAVE through the House while the nation is caught up with the horrors of ICE and the Epstein/Trump files feels very calculated to me. I don't think they would have bothered if they didn't see a path to getting it through the Senate.

The Senate with either nuke the filibuster or won't -- I suspect Thune doesn't want to be the one to do it, and so will make vague word-sounding-noises while quietly dooming SAVE.

Trump will declare the Senate "WEAK" and "LOSERS!" and threaten to campaign against them. His advisors, perhaps Susie Wiles, will explain he can't bleed Senators since the election is coming up. He either will or won't shut up, and we will have the House and perhaps the Senate in 2027.
