4. My random guess is the ransom demands came from some opportunist who

thought he could cash in on the situation. The kidnapper, on the other hand, is a local MAGA moron who has a serious problem with women and has nursed his anger over Savannah Guthrie’s non-deferential treatment of Trump in the debate and town hall she moderated. She also interviewed Epstein survivors. With all the publicity coming out around Trump’s involvement with Epstein he lashed out and kidnapped the mother and killed her.

But it appears that the local Sheriff (who seems to be well-meaning, but incompetent) and possibly Cash Patel’s FBI are as well. It seems hard to believe at this point that this case is going to come to a satisfactory resolution for anyone involved.

When Elizabeth Smart was abducted in the middle of the night it was done by someone who was known to the family. Not known well, but if they had gone through a list of possible contacts and tracked them down, maybe they would have found her a lot sooner.

Elizabeth Smart was in public with her abductors. At one point a federal agent asked to see her face and the abductor refused to show it for "religious" reasons. What effing religion is that in the US? So that was a missed opportunity. She was out there for nine months before being identified.

Nancy Guthrie does not have nine months.
