Moving at the speed of a stationary rock

Trump's "successes" can be attributed to he is 1) indifferent to any rule that checks him 2) he absolutely will not seek "permission" AND 3) he acts on impulse which translates to "moving quickly"

Over and over you can see/understand the events unfold like a train wreck in slow motion (e.g. Invasion of Iraq and WMD). The ostrich in me thought there are so many people much smarter and are better positioned to stop the wreck; so ignore. Yet the train goes off the track anyway.

I see so many future wrecks underway now and still don't understand our inability to prevent them (sorry Venezuela). Even so it is hard to understand why anyone would think the strikes in the Caribbean were following "woke" policies. Of all things that have been communicated clearly, from day one, is the old ways were out....damn the consequences.

When convening the Generals the theme of no more "walking on eggshells" and following "commonsense" laid it out there. IMO, Common sense is the opinions of those that are incapable of understanding the complexity of any given thing. They see the topic as black and white. The highlights are mine

And since waging war is so costly in blood and treasure, we owe our republic a military that will win any war we choose or any war that is thrust upon us. Should our enemies choose foolishly to challenge us, they will be crushed by the violence, precision and ferocity of the War Department. In other words, to our enemies, FAFO.

These directives are designed to take the monkey off your back and put you, the leadership, back in the driver's seat. Move out with urgency because we have your back. I have your back, and the commander in chief has your back.
...........
We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement, just common sense, maximum lethality and authority for warfighters.

Other recent quotes from the secretary of war and CIC:

"We smoked a drug boat and there's 11 narco-terrorists at the bottom of the ocean"

"I think anybody that saw that is going to say, ‘I’ll take a pass,’ I don’t even know about fishermen. They may say, ‘I’m not getting on the boat. I’m not going to take a chance."

"The officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter, added that the military hit the vessel repeatedly before it sank."

Didn't commonsense dictate if they were hitting them repeatedly because they were taking no prisoners. I seem to recall Mexico was dispatched to collect a survivor. Apparently we can't be bothered with dealing with them.
