I keep reading stories that simply horrify me, such as this one:
Inside a "Hell on Earth" in Oklahoma
I hear that these people were waterboarded, and I get a flashback to Abu Graib and the photos of naked men piled on top of each other and terrorized by a young girl with a dog.
I remember someone promising the world that we would hold those responsible accountable, but then all they did was sacrifice a few low-level soldiers.
I read this story:
Black student's body found hanging from a tree in Mississippi
And police calling it a suicide, disputing that his arms and legs were broken. Really?
I see us killing fishermen off the coast of Venezuela, with half the country celebrating.
And of course there's the refusal to pass gun laws even after mass shootings of children in schools.
Cruelty, cruelty, cruelty. Callousness. Hatred.
What is wrong with this country? How can it ever be mended?

Theres no mending it, fascist reactionaryism must be allowed to run its course, with patriots working to mitigate the damage as much as possible.
Perhaps by the and of this century sanity will return.

Brought to the new world from the old. Doctrine of Discovery. Destruction of the land as a right. From genocide of natives to slavery.
And Calvinism. The puritans have a lot to answer for.
Trying to bury our past makes people crazy. And leads to more violence and self-hatred.
