I would eliminate playing any patriotic songs at any sporting event. There is nothing patriotic about sports including NASCAR.

But beyond that, everything is politics. Political economy is who gets what, where, when and how. Sports serves the purpose of the circuses part of bread-and-circuses.

Playing the national anthem before every sporting event is silly & pointless.
Everybody there knows what country this is & where they're from.
The dumb tradition started when MLB started doing in during WW1 as a way to drum up enthusiasm for war bonds.
Even if that was necessary & a good idea (highly questionable), it should have ended when WW1 ended.

Here is the quote I heard

Charlie Kirk on the Dallas Cowboys:

“The Cowboys are so easy to hate. Why is every Cowboys fan like a 5 foot 6 Mexican with long jean shorts?”

"The clip went viral, surpassing 1 million views, with many commenters labeling the remarks racist and questioning Kirk’s legacy. Social media users also asked why the NFL would honor him, fueling a broader discussion about the league’s choices in recognizing public figures."

Good!!! Kirk's hateful words are being broadcast

Just another puke-worthy incident in a nation guided by racist degenerate hate-mongers.

Thank God there's NFL football to watch this Sunday, instead of that funeral service.

I'm sure ESPN had something as well. I'm trying desperately to stay away from the news for the last week. Just too much.

"The NFL is racially segregated and is managed much like a plantation. Its 32 owners — none of whom are Black — profit substantially from the labor of NFL players, 70% of whom are Black. The owners watch the games from atop NFL stadiums in their luxury boxes, while their majority-Black workforce put their bodies on the line every Sunday, taking vicious hits and suffering debilitating injuries to their bodies and their brains while the NFL and its owners reap billions of dollars." - (former Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores, from a class action lawsuit against the National Football League)
