2. Thanks to ABC and CBS for kissing the ass of the sociopath for lawsuits that had no merit, they have opened

the door for the nazi in the white house to file a lawsuit against any media outlet that doesn't say pleasant things about the jackass.

Perhaps out of all of this, one of the biggest disappointments was the press completely dropping the ball, and caving into trump and his thugs, in the name of the almighty dollar, instead of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Disappointment. The NYT will most likely pay the shake down as well. Afterwards they will purge any decent journalist they have left.

4. I am not sure if they will. Unlike bezo's washington post, and the la times retracting their endorsements of Harris,

with the lame excuse they would not be offering presidential endorsements anymore, because their billionaire owners told them to, the NY Times refused did not back off of a Presidential endorsements, which is no doubt why the POS in the WH is doing this lawsuit.

I actually think they are going to fight it.

The question of course comes in how the courts will decide. The case should actually be thrown out of court, because it has no merit.

The times will have to goto trial. The sum he is seeking is insane. We need a trial in this and the UCLA case. We need to see them lose in court and then sued for extortion, which is what this is. Period.

8. The reason is: we lawyers need a cushy job in the regime, and we need to show our butt-kissing potential to the full

This suit is not about an expectation of winning; it's a form of propaganda, to rile up the MAGA idiots against the NYT (and any other media that hasn't taken a blood oath of loyalty to the Rapist), tie the NYT up in legal work, and get more lawyers who will be parachuted into regime legal positions (they need a steady stream of these, since those currently in post will have to resign due to scandals at a steady rate).

10. MaddowBlog-Why Trump's new civil suit against The New York Times is so bizarre

Americans have never had a president who, while in office, sued independent news organizations for publishing reports the White House disapproved of.

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/trump-new-york-times-lawsuit-rcna231651

About a week ago, for reasons that were not altogether clear, Donald Trump threatened to sue The New York Times. Evidently, the president wasn’t kidding. NBC News reported:

President Donald Trump on Monday filed a federal defamation lawsuit against the New York Times, four of its reporters and Penguin Random House over coverage of his 2024 campaign. The suit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, which covers the area where Trump resides outside the White House, accused the newspaper of attempting to ruin his reputation as a businessman, sink his campaign and prejudice judges and juries against him in coverage of his campaign.

......Right off the bat, it’s important to note that describing the court filing as a “lawsuit” is itself generous. As writer Jesse Berney summarized, the lawsuit is “like an 85-page Trump Truth Social post. It’s hilarious.”

That characterization is more than fair. Reading it, I felt a little embarrassed for the lawyers who were responsible for producing it, especially after seeing random Trump-related images that seemed to have been included in this dreadfully silly document for no apparent reason.

There’s no reason to think the case will succeed. For that matter, Trump’s attorneys should hope they avoid sanctions for having filed such an absurdity in the first place......

The volume of cases might make it seem as if this has become routine, but the broader circumstances remain bizarre: Americans have never had a president who, while in office, sued independent news organizations for publishing reports the White House disapproved of.

And yet, Trump can’t seem to stop suing independent news organizations for publishing reports the White House disapproves of.

This lawsuit is truly bizarre and the lawyers involved should be sanctioned or disbarred. Again, one of the firms is based in Houston and no one at my firm has heard of them.
