Vice President Vance hosted a republican town hall-style forum on Charlie Kirk's former right-wing radio show Monday. He brought an entourage of administration officials who used the time to disparage their political opponents, while simultaneously claiming all they wanted was to get along.
At the end Vance puffed all up for the camera and was literally bellowing out a defense of Kirk, hollering until hoarse at some 'leftist' or Democrat he imagined was listening to him whinge about something a magazine once reported about his martyr which he claimed was a lie.
from Slate:
The article, which had critiqued Kirks political legacy, lied about a dead man, Vance said.
The lie (that Vance alleged) was in describing Kirk as saying Black women do not have brain processing power to be taken seriously.
In reality, he had listed four prominent Black women, including Michelle Obama and Ketanji Brown Jackson, who he said had benefited from affirmative action, because they do not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken really seriously.
Snopes:
Kirk was speaking on his show, "The Charlie Kirk Show," on July 13, 2023. He was talking specifically about television presenter Joy Reid; former first lady Michelle Obama; then-U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, a Democrat from Texas; and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.
Snopes identified an episode of "The Charlie Kirk Show" (archived) from July 13, 2023, in which Kirk named these four Black women and said these words, adding that the admission that they had benefited from affirmative action amounted to a confession that they were not bright enough to reach prominence on their merits:
If we would have said three weeks ago [ ] that Joy Reid and Michelle Obama and Sheila Jackson Lee and Ketanji Brown Jackson were affirmative-action picks, we would have been called racist. But now they're coming out and they're saying it for us! They're coming out and they're saying, "I'm only here because of affirmative action."
Yeah, we know. You do not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken really seriously. You had to go steal a white person's slot to go be taken somewhat seriously.
Kirk then played a clip of Jackson Lee speaking in Congress, saying she had been admitted to educational institutions on affirmative action. Kirk then went on to make his point again:
We know. We know. It's very obvious to us you are not smart enough to be able to get it on your own. "I could not make it on my own, so I needed to take opportunities from someone more deserving."

...while I'm at it, I should also point out the offensive remark the dead activist once made about Kamala Harris in the same segment that he suggested President Biden needs to be 'executed' for some unnamed crime.
In a segment from Kirk's radio show he can be heard declaring: "Joe Biden is a bumbling, dementia filled, Alzheimer's, corrupt tyrant who should honestly be put in prison and or given the death penalty for his crimes against America."
KIRK: "I know what you're thinking, we've got to get Joe Biden out of the way so we can run against Kammy. Oh my goodness, is she beatable. It's like Black Hillary on steroids. Is she Black? I guess she says she's Caribbean or whatever. ...doesn't matter, she gives these speeches that have an aura of totalitarianism."
"She would be a lot easier to beat than Joe Biden. Joe Biden is a bumbling dementia filled Alzheimer's corrupt tyrant who should honestly be put in prison and/or given the death penalty for his crimes against America."

Literally if Kirk spent years bringing the country together, fighting for the poor, mistreated, and against the system . . . They'd be pouring those posts everywhere. Those posts don't exist. He wasn't interested in the brotherhood of man, feeding the poor, or bringing the world together in harmony. That wasn't his gig.

I don't think their beliefs look anything like that.

I mean, if Vance wants to celebrate Kirk, the least he can do is honour Kirk's words, not deny them. It's downright disrespectful.

The phrase "the truth is not in them" is found in 1 John 2:4 and 1 John 1:8. It describes those who claim to know God or live in his light but do not follow his commandments or acknowledge their sin. The passage emphasizes that true followers of God demonstrate their knowledge through obedience and a commitment to living as Christ did, proving the truth is within them.
