If this passes, Rubio can revoke & deny passports to US citizens

Last edited Mon Sep 15, 2025, 04:29 PM - Edit history (2)

https://truthout.org/articles/new-bill-would-allow-rubio-to-strip-us-citizens-passports-over-political-speech/

The legislation would allow the Secretary of State to strip anyone’s US passport with no legal due process.

The bill, introduced by Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.), will come up for a hearing on Wednesday. According to The Intercept:

Mast’s new bill claims to target a narrow set of people. One section grants the secretary of state the power to revoke or refuse to issue passports for people who have been convicted—or merely charged—of material support for terrorism…

The other section sidesteps the legal process entirely. Rather, the secretary of state would be able to deny passports to people whom they determine “has knowingly aided, assisted, abetted, or otherwise provided material support to an organization the Secretary has designated as a foreign terrorist organization.”

This shitty legislation is HR5300. It is 248 pages longish.
Section 226 "No passports for terrorists and traffickers"

Rep. Mast volunteered with the Israeli military, known as the Israeli Defense Force or IDF, in 2015. He has been a vocal supporter of Israel in Congress.

It still astounds me that there is any respect for people who support a genocidal theocracy...as long as it isn't the one trying to run this country.

Mast, who was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, was first elected to Congress in 2016. He is a U.S. Army veteran, having worked as an explosive ordnance disposal technician in Afghanistan, where he lost both legs after stepping on an improvised explosive device. He later worked as an explosives expert for multiple federal agencies.

Trump says he would designate Antifa, other left-wing groups as ‘domestic terrorists’

President Donald Trump said Monday he’d consider naming far-left anti-fascism group Antifa as domestic terrorists, previewing a plan to crack down on what he’s cast as a widespread network of left-wing radicals inciting violence.

“It’s something I would do, yeah,” he said when asked whether he would assign a domestic terrorism label to Antifa, saying he would proceed if he found support from Cabinet officials and the Justice Department.

It wasn’t clear who or what exactly Trump would designate; Antifa is a loosely organized movement without a distinct leader, membership lists or structure.
