https://truthout.org/articles/new-bill-would-allow-rubio-to-strip-us-citizens-passports-over-political-speech/The bill, introduced by Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.), will come up for a hearing on Wednesday. According to The Intercept:
Masts new bill claims to target a narrow set of people. One section grants the secretary of state the power to revoke or refuse to issue passports for people who have been convictedor merely chargedof material support for terrorism
The other section sidesteps the legal process entirely. Rather, the secretary of state would be able to deny passports to people whom they determine has knowingly aided, assisted, abetted, or otherwise provided material support to an organization the Secretary has designated as a foreign terrorist organization.
This shitty legislation is HR5300. It is 248 pages longish.
Section 226 "No passports for terrorists and traffickers"

It still astounds me that there is any respect for people who support a genocidal theocracy...as long as it isn't the one trying to run this country.

I always wondered about the Germans who waited just a bit too long to flee the Nazis.

(8,057 posts)although I thought they might wait until they stole the mid-terms. They could easily expand this to cover virtually any reason at all. The time to get out grows shorter.
You have to leave! if you can't show proof of citizenship, like a passport for example. Unless you want to get out, in which case we will revoke your passport so you can't leave!

(66,342 posts)Its something I would do, yeah, he said when asked whether he would assign a domestic terrorism label to Antifa, saying he would proceed if he found support from Cabinet officials and the Justice Department.
It wasnt clear who or what exactly Trump would designate; Antifa is a loosely organized movement without a distinct leader, membership lists or structure.
