Women's suffrage is apparently up for debate again in America

Last month, for example, the US defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, shared a video on X in which several pastors say women should no longer be allowed to vote as individuals. “In my ideal society, we would vote as households,” one of the pastors in the CNN clip says. “I would ordinarily be the one to cast the vote, but I would cast the vote having discussed it with my household.” While Hegseth didn’t explicitly endorse the video, he did retweet it with the caption “All of Christ for All of Life.”

Slate then contacted the Pentagon to give Hegseth a chance to clarify his thoughts on the matter. The reply wasn’t a straight answer; instead it just said Hegseth was a member of a church affiliated with Pastor Doug Wilson and “very much appreciates many of Mr Wilson’s writings and teachings”. Wilson is a Christian nationalist who has said “women are the kind of people that people come out of” and written blogposts with titles such as “The Lost Virtue of Sexism”.

Then there’s the tech billionaire Peter Thiel, who helped bankroll JD Vance’s political career. Back in 2009, Thiel published an essay that argued it may have been a bit of an error to give women the right to vote. “Since 1920, the vast increase in welfare beneficiaries and the extension of the franchise to women – two constituencies that are notoriously tough for libertarians – have rendered the notion of ‘capitalist democracy’ into an oxymoron,” Thiel wrote.

Predictably, Elon Musk also has some views on this matter. While the tech billionaire (soon to be trillionaire?) has never explicitly argued women shouldn’t vote, he has amplified tweets that undermine the idea of universal suffrage. Last year, for example, he wrote “interesting observation” on a retweet of a post by an account called Autism Capital which stated a “Republic of high status males is best for decision making.” The same post argued “women and low T men” are “malleable” and can’t think freely. A year before, Musk appeared to endorse the idea that “democracy is probably unworkable long term without limiting suffrage to parents”.

Though Hegs is also an idiot. He is a flunkie who got bounced from a competitive officer's program and he has been carrying an inferiority complex. He is projecting his being out competed by minorities and women, who are likely multigenerational military along with havimg better character. This dude thinks he was "discriminated" against where they were better prepared and don't waste time and health getting drunk.

There are many times more faux libertarians than real libertarians.

Another feature of faux libertarians is that they do everything to avoid liability for their actions. Faux libertarians oppose release of all the Epstein files.

People often talk about maga et al being "libertarian" which is completely false. They are ultra-capitalist-supporting faux libertarians. They claim they want free speech and yet demand loyalty tests, fines against broadcasters, and cancel culture against Kirk critics and critics of misogyny, racism, and kakistocracy.

Idiot maga don't realize the billionaires are picking their pockets and laughing at the suckers.

I bought my house and 12 acres when I was 49.

I worked bending steel. (Rebar bender)

I worked building freight cars for the railroads.

I was a cook on a tug boat. (3 weeks on 3 weeks off)

I worked in a factory that made aluminum cans.

I saved my money and put a down payment on my house and land when I was 49.

I paid a 30 year mortgage off in 19 years.

I had zero help from any man !!!

I did it all on my own.

I am now 72.

I was the first female on either side of my family to by a home without the help of a husband or any man.

I am a woman and all you fucking men that hate or fear women can fuck off !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And that hasn't been easy for her.
I remember how bad it was for women in the 50's and 60's. Women couldn't take out a loan, or even get a credit card without a man co-signing for it.
Back then, women went to college to be a nurse, a librarian, or a teacher, and not much else. Many women who worked held jobs like secretary, switchboard operator, receptionist, clerk...service jobs that coordinated the activities of others.
Very very few had positions of power and authority. And the pay was less than for a man in the same job.

Things have slowly changed for the better over the decades , but misogynistic men want to go back to the "good old days".
As my brother-in-law would say, when he teased his wife, "barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen".

Very few women are willing to go back there. It seems to me that the only ones who are have serious self worth issues.
I can't see the women of this country putting up with that, and I stand solid with them in that regard.

I applaud your independence.

I encourage our female sisters essentially going on strike, from a romantic perspective, until the laws are changed would (likely?) get a lot of men's attention.

Nothing.... not even a hug, let alone anything more intimate... for any man until things are definitively equalized and idiots like any pastors etc who support that viewpoint are rightly shamed....

Testosterone misuse and abuse in this country. Sounds like Elon jumped on band wagon. It makes me sick. It must make them feel powerful and invincible. At a time in life where men no longer need as much testosterone, no longer in normal child production age, and could use their energy to make the world a better place, they OD on T and dick pills so they can feel forever young. Knock it off women don't want to deal with your aggression or your perpetual hard ons. Grow the fuck up.

36. This was one of Charlie Kirk's main messages.
Mon Sep 15, 2025, 01:52 PM

Yes, Kirk was mean to gay, trans, and other minority people. But why? His main focus was on women. He promoted an extreme idea that women are inherently unequal beings whose only worth and purpose is to be submissive wives and baby makers.

Gay and trans people threaten that idea because our existence and success in life proves that sexes aren't inherently unequal.

My wife and I are professional women, happy and successful. We have loving relationships with our children, other relatives, and friends. Our existence blows up Charlie Kirk's fantasy.

Trans people are proof that sex is not necessarily binary or immutable. Their existence blows up Kirk's fantasy.

It's very easy to understand Kirk's beliefs and motivations. He wanted to be a king surrounded by slaves and concubines.
