Strive for unity? Get a new President

Addressing political violence is mostly the discussions headlining all the MSNBC news programs of late. But before anyone knew anything about the Charlie Kirk shooter, Trump was blaming "the radical left." There's still no motive on the shooter's part I'm aware of, and Trump is still blaming the left.

“I’ll tell you something that’s going to get me in trouble, but I couldn’t care less,” the president responded. “The radicals on the right oftentimes are radical because they don’t want to see crime. They don’t want to see crime.”

“They’re saying, ‘We don’t want these people coming here. And we don’t want you burning our shopping centers. We don’t want you shooting our people in the middle of the street,’” Trump added, appearing to nod to instances of right-wing vigilantism in recent years.

“The radicals on the left are the problem. They’re vicious, and they’re horrible,” Trump said. “And they’re politically savvy, although they want men in women’s sports. They want transgender for every one. They want open borders.”

As everyone knows, Trump opened the door to violence when he campaigned in 2016 and has both encouraged and condoned it ever since. And as we also know, some 30%-40% of his staunch supporters are also pro-violence or else they wouldn't continue to support him. The only thing that keeps him in office is the threat of violence; he'd have been impeached and removed long ago were it not for fear of retribution on the part of the GOP Congressional membership.

Trump would call it leverage. It is in fact, mob boss coercion.
