Is this in poor taste or is it acceptable dark humor?

I was scrolling through Tik Tok tonight and I came across a brief 30 second video of a woman eating some strawberries and drinking a beverage while sitting on her couch. Some text overlaid the bottom section of the video which read "At least Charlie Kirk would be happy to know it was a qualified white man and not a DEI hire."

What does DU think of this statement? Is this a fair attempt at humor given Kirk's notorious racism and misogyny? Or is it an insensitive commentary on his death? Also, there is a snippet of the song "Protect Ya Neck" by Wu-Tang Clan playing as a soundtrack to the video.

The hypocritical free speech for me but not for thee crowd on the right would obviously be screaming about this video. However the 500+ comments on the video as of this moment are almost unanimous in their support of the woman of who posted it with many of them praising the video for its humor. That could be the app's self-selective algorithm funneling like minded users to the video, though.

I am not going to provide a link to the video, at least not for now; but I may provide one later even though there is nothing more to the video than what I described above.

What say you, DU?

As a woman and an ally of PoC, LGBTQ, women, sentient free humans, I just don't have it in me to feel it's an untouchable subject for humor. The man had no problem mocking and dehumanizing anyone he wanted to, so while I'm sorry he was murdered, I've got more sympathy for the innocent school kids killed and injured the same day. In his own theological world view, he lived by the sword and died by the sword. If the world was run by liberals, he'd still be alive because guns and regulations are Democratic ideals.

Personally, I think this website will fold because it won’t be taken seriously. Someone will inevitably create content to falsely doxx someone. And the website will probably be hacked.

6. Kirk was warned about six months ago that he put himself in a dangerous position

with these college appearances, and that his security for such was totally inadequate---

(Quite possibly the so-called security expert over-estimated the threat from the left,
as opposed to the threat from the further-right....)
