3. Wait, Wut? Planes, especially military aircraft are made to be hit by lightning....

It's understood that lightning strikes are a high risk.
Any munitions on a plane are grounded so they can survive lightning strikes ..

6. Other sources aren't reporting the destruction.

This is the only one I've seen that claimed that the aircraft was destroyed. Other sources I've found report 2 or 3 failed sorties, but nothing catastrophic. I'm not very familiar with the sources, though, and the reporting all seems pretty preliminary.

According to the Telegram channel "Dossier Shpiona", which, as stated in its description, is run by an employee of one of the Russian special services, the Tu-160 missile carrier with the tail number "16" was directly struck by lightning , as a result of which it was forced to urgently return to the airfield. Damage to the cockpit glazing is reported.

Where did you get the "self destructed" part?

... it couldn't fore their missiles. The damage to the control surface of the tail looked pretty serious. We don't know what other damage was done to the avionics. It also seems that these planes are susceptible to damage from lightening.

Don't like the post? Ignore it.

... what is your point? It is what it is and you seem on a vendetta. I'm done.

You don't like it, ignore it.

12. The picture used in the video is of a TU-22M, not the TU-160 as claimed.

And that specific tail number ID'd aircraft was damaged in a drone attack on the Dyagilevo Air Base earlier this year.... nothing to do with a lightning strike.

The YouTube creator is publishing pure nonsense for clicks. You should avoid them.

And Putin is always acting in good faith while being repeatedly abused by the West/ Nato. He just wants peace. Part of a long established Russophile pattern.
