Any ideas why Starmer thinks we can do better than Powell and Murray? They're both low-profile, I'd say, but I can't see brilliant replacements queuing up.
Rayner's resignation looked inevitable after the report; she was careless about stamp duty, and having made her name with attacks on dodgy Tories, she'd have had no way of remaining Housing Secretary without constant attacks about "double standards".

Shabana Mahmood from Justice to Home; Yvette Cooper from Home to Foreign; David Lammy from Foreign to Justice, plus picking up "Deputy PM" (can he keep that if the party elects someone else as Deputy Party Leader? I'd think not.)
