Link?
Time scale? Are you talking about the last half hour or the last 90 days?

We are not mind readers.

We can't build a new plane every time one goes somewhere. They have to come back

The skies have been a stupid, dangerous mess every since the frigging GOP got its grifty, incompetent, cheating mitts into play.

Over the past two weeks I have gotten notices of numerous planes returning to their departure point or the nearest available airport.

Refused landing at O'Hara, refused landing at Nuuk in Greenland, multiple disruptive passengers, smoke in the cabin, unspecified "operational" issues. Some in the US, some in Europe, some in Asia.

At least one was halfway across the Atlantic and another was headed to Japan and instead went to Hawaii.

Maybe this is normal and I have just become more aware of how dicey air travel has always been.

Air travel has fewer fatalities and injuries than driving, bicycling, buses, walking, boating, and swimming, by a big margin. I don't know about trains, I'm sure they are lower than driving too.

"dicey"? Airline meals are dicey. Seat assignment is dicey. Seat mates are dicey. In flight entertainment is dicey. Piloting and safety? Not dicey.

Globally, around 100,000 commercial flights take off and land every day, transporting millions of passengers worldwide. This figure includes all types of flights, such as passenger, cargo, and private planes, with the exact number fluctuating based on seasonal demand and daily schedules. At any given moment, between 15,000 and 20,000 planes are in the air.

Abd I do not need any added anxiety about airplanes .

" you may conquer the air, but the birds will lose their wonder, and the clouds will smell of gasoline." - from "Inherit the Wind."

In the past few years there have been airplane doors blowing out mid-flight, fleets of airliners grounded after discovery of design flaws, pilots intentionally crashing their planes into mountains, not to.mention the repeated crashes of military Ospreys.

My concerns come from the primordial fear of falling from a great height.

I don't hate airplanes, they scare me.
