Israel committing genocide in Gaza, world's top scholars on the crime say

International Association of Genocide Scholars resolution backed by 86% of members who voted

The world’s leading genocide scholars’ association has backed a resolution stating that Israel’s actions in Gaza meet the legal definition of the crime.

Out of the International Association of Genocide Scholars’s (IAGS) 500 members, 28% took part in the vote. Of those who voted, 86% supported the resolution. The resolution states that “Israel’s policies and actions in Gaza meet the legal definition of genocide in article II of the United Nations convention for the prevention and punishment of the crime of genocide (1948).”

The three-page resolution passed by the body calls on Israel to “immediately cease all acts that constitute genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity against Palestinians in Gaza, including deliberate attacks against and killing of civilians including children; starvation; deprivation of humanitarian aid, water, fuel, and other items essential to the survival of the population; sexual and reproductive violence; and forced displacement of the population.”

The resolution said the IAGS recognised that “since the horrific Hamas-led attack of 7 October 2023, which itself constitutes international crimes”, the government of Israel had engaged in systematic and widespread crimes against humanity, war crimes and genocide, including indiscriminate and deliberate attacks against the civilians and civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, homes and commercial buildings, of Gaza.

Somehow it must stop. The UN should send troops to both Gaza and the West Bank, to remove all Israeli military and "settlers."

As of September 2025, Senator Bernie Sanders has been consistent in his position of avoiding the legal term "genocide" regarding Israel's actions in Gaza.

Collins challenges Sanders' response to allegations of genocide by Israel

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins asks Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to address whether Israel's actions in Gaza can be classified as genocide.

While he opts to not use the word "genocide," he doesn't deny it, either. I, like you, give him a pass on this, as he clearly finds what Netanyahu et al are doing in Gaza. It's not surprising that Bernie does not support killing itty-bitty children. Only truly disturbed people seek to justify it.

UNBELIEVABLE: The organization that the BBC credited as "the world's leading association of genocide scholars" merely requires a $30 fee to join.

The International Association of Genocide Scholars has no background checks and members with names like "Adolf Hitler" are free to vote on resolutions accusing Israel of genocide.

After this was brought to light, the once easily accessible members list on the website was hidden.

Nothing shady going on here, right?

I guess that makes Democrats terrorists hiding behind civilians in Gaza.

Six in 10 voters (60 percent) oppose the United States sending more military aid to Israel for their efforts in the war with Hamas, while 32 percent support it.

This is the highest level of opposition and lowest level of support for the United States sending more military aid to Israel since Quinnipiac University first asked this question of registered voters on November 2, 2023, in the wake of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

In today's poll, Democrats (75 - 18 percent) and independents (66 - 27 percent) oppose sending more military aid to Israel for their efforts in the war with Hamas, while Republicans (56 - 37 percent) support it.

Voters were asked whether their sympathies lie more with the Israelis or more with the Palestinians based on what they know about the situation in the Middle East. Thirty-seven percent of voters say the Palestinians, while 36 percent say the Israelis, and 27 percent did not offer an opinion
