Sure, Trump talks big, but in the face of criticism he is a weak, thin-skinned coward. Here is a fool who thinks RJK Jr is qualified as Surgeon General Secretary of Health and Human Services and the best platform against gun violence is wearing a pad on one's ear. His not being seen in public has nothing to do with his physical health, it's the demons inside his head that are getting to him.

(3,493 posts)but for some time in America democracy allowed good people to ascend and hold it at bay, for enough people, imperfectly, but enough for us to think that fairness and doing good was the norm.

(37,632 posts)Hitting a teacher when he was just a child because he didn't think they were a good teacher would fit that fantasy of his. And if he didn't actually hit one, just say he did (like he makes up stories his uncle told him about the Unabomber, etc. etc. etc.)
MadameButterfly
(3,493 posts)What age child? 7, 12, 15? Was the (imaginary) teacher a man or a woman? Did they fall, or bleed, or did the punch bounce off? or did they grab his wrists and call security? Was this supposed to make him/her a better teacher, or get rid of the teacher, or intimidate the teacher into treating him better? Was it to allow Donny to blow off steam, or to make classmates look up to him instead of the teacher?
I know this is all in the mind of Trump, but I can't even come up with a fantasy in which this makes any sense or elevates him in any way.
Every day I am thankful that I am nothing like Trump. How horrible it must be to harbor all of his hatred and human dysfunction. To be a person with no basic human values, morals, ethics, empathy, wisdom or truth.

(33,557 posts)President Trumps recent diagnosis sparks interest in this common vascular condition
DALLAS, July 17, 2025 In light of reports from the White House that President Donald J. Trump has been diagnosed with Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI), the American Heart Association is sharing important information on the condition and its association with cardiovascular risk factors, disease and increased risk of death.
According to the Association, the worlds leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health for all, chronic venous insufficiency (a form of chronic venous disease) is highly prevalent - especially in older adults. The condition is often underrecognized and undertreated and there is a strong association between chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) and an increased risk for heart issues, specifically cardiovascular disease (CVD) and mortality independent of age, sex and existing cardiovascular risk factors and comorbidities. CVI is associated with the presence of established cardiovascular risk factors and disease, including age, obesity, smoking, sedentary lifestyle and clinically overt cardiovascular disease.
Advanced age is, in general, a significant risk factor for CVI. As people age, the valves in their leg veins, which are responsible for maintaining blood flow towards the heart, can weaken or become damaged. This makes it harder for blood to flow back efficiently, allowing backward flow of blood in the veins, leading to blood pooling in the legs and the development of CVI.
Chronic Venous Insufficiency can significantly impact your quality of life, but early detection and treatment can make a substantial difference, said past volunteer chair of the American Heart Association's Vascular Health Advisory Committee and Scientific Council on Peripheral Vascular Disease Joshua A. Beckman, M.D., FAHA. That is why it is vital for individuals to be aware of the signs and symptoms of CVI so they can seek timely medical evaluation and intervention. Dr. Beckman is the Executive Clinical Director of Cardiovascular Services and Chief of the Division of Vascular Medicine and a professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he holds the Gayle and Paul Stoffel Distinguished Chair in Cardiology. He also serves as an associate editor of Circulation, the leading scientific journal for cardiovascular medicine, and has been a dedicated American Heart Association volunteer since 2004.
https://newsroom.heart.org/news/what-is-chronic-venous-insufficiency
According to a note from White House physician Sean Barbabella released to reporters, the condition is "benign and common", especially in people over age 70.
Additional testing showed "no signs of heart failure, renal impairment, or systemic illness" in Trump, Barbabella said in the note, which confirmed the information from Leavitt's earlier briefing.
I notice they didn't mention: Coronary Artery Disease. atherosclerosis, hyper-cholesterol and/ or hypertension. I would not be surprised if he also had these and they only provided info specific to the bruising. Treatment for CAD and clogged arteries, often involves blood thinners to prevent heart attacks.
Doctors have found a drug that is better than aspirin at preventing heart attacks and strokes, in a discovery that could transform health guidelines worldwide.
For decades, millions of people have been advised to take aspirin to reduce their risk of experiencing a serious cardiovascular event. A daily low-dose aspirin makes blood less sticky and helps prevent heart attacks and strokes.
But now a new study, presented at the worlds largest heart conference, has found that clopidogrel, a commonly prescribed blood thinner, is more effective and with no extra risk.
https://www.theguardian.com/society/2025/aug/31/doctors-find-drug-that-is-better-than-aspirin-at-preventing-heart-attacks-clopidogrel
OTOH: CHF is quite common. My grandmother had for years. She was thin and and I never saw swelling. My grandfather had it. My father in law had it. My chihuahua had it. She had it for about 10 years too. She couldn't tolerate lasix, so we didn't treat it. She lived to be 16 and died from fire ant bites. (OK, probably TMI) Her main symptom was a cough.
Most cases of kidney failure around here in older adults are secondary to long term diabetes and severe, chronic hypertension. Kidneys can go "quickly" but they often fail due to more serious conditions than Trump seems to showing. . Heart issues are more common and come on more gradually.
My husband is on blood thinners and he gets bruising like that. He has coronary artery disease.
This whole thing with his health is speculating that he's dead. For gosh sakes. People on here are saying that he's dead and that he has a body double. It goes on and on.

Speculating on all these severe illnesses based on swelling and bruising is nonproductive. Unless he "disappears" for longer, it's business as usual and more importantly, he's out destroying America.
He often looks crappy and droopy when he goes golfing. There's a pic from 2019 and he looks just like the one from Saturday.

(33,557 posts)He was diagnosed with Chronic Venous Insufficiency. They didn't say whether he had some form of issue with cholesterol (based on his weight, diet and the commonality, I think it's a given. They also didn't mention hypertension. Once again, based on his weight, high blood pressure could also be an issue. )
I would not be surprised if he is receiving blood thinners to prevent a heart attack or for treatment of chronic venous insufficiency and that's why he is having bruising. Hubby is on them. Hubby had a stent put in last year. Prior to that he was on lipitor for decades
Ms. Toad
(37,632 posts)I wouldn't expect the report of a newly diagnosed issue to include a litany of all of his medical problems.
But previous medical reports have mentioned mildly elevated blood pressure and high cholesterol which he controls by two medications. He is taking daily aspirin as a preventative cardiac measure. And he is using a cream for an unspecified skin condition. CHF has never been listed in his medical reports.
LeftInTX
(33,557 posts)cholesterol levels etc. Obviously, blood thinners are prescribed to prevent clot(s) or possibly deal with them.
Anyway, blood thinners are a common treatment. Hubby was bruised like that. He did have a stent last year. Same diagnosis as Trump with long term high cholesterol and hypertension. (minus the CVI). He developed chest pains, so we took him in. They did a stent because they found some blockages. They put him on blood thinners afterward. Hubby is only 66 and dark complected. He was pretty embarrassed with his "old man bruises". He would get bruised bad if they drew blood or if he bumped into something or sustained a minor anything. He kinda turned into a prima-donna over the bruising thing.
Ms. Toad
(37,632 posts)because they are disclosed in his most recent comprehensive summary and the recent diagnosis. He was not diagnosed with hypertension - just with elevated blood pressure (not high enough for a hypertension diagnosis - but heading in that direction).
Bruises are common in older folks with, or without, blood thinners.
