Who shows up to these red state town halls
where congressional republicans are getting torn new chutes de la merde? I understand that it's not just folks who are fine with being klan adjacent or who have been indoctrinated to hate the people who are actually devoted to delivering the policies they want and need to improve their own quality of life who live in red states. As many DUers remind us, progressives live in red states too. But I can't believe that these crowds that show up to boo republicans are all or mostly Democrats. I could be wrong on that.
But if I'm right, that means there's a merde-ton of republican voters pissed at what's going on even though republicans have never failed to repeat their own history of trying to cut the Medis (Aid and Care) and other programs that benefit the republicans that continually vote against their interests again and again.
Suicide among white farmers skyrocketed during the previous rapist's Oval Office go-round as a result of his tariffs, and that was WITH the handouts he gave to mitigate the financial ruin they would face as a result of those tariffs. White rural farmers went right back to supporting said rapist in 2020 and again in 2024 during the latter of which he promised more tariffs.
Much of what I personally talk about on this forum is the draw of cultural voting for white republicans so I'm not naive. I just wonder if those people are ever going to learn. I wonder if perhaps it really is a cult (which it was before the rapist fumbled and flailed his way into politics) in which case, why do they have such angry responses when their revered ones deliver exactly on what they promised? Cultists are generally agreeable types.
I've been saying for decades now that the Democratic Party is a party based on policy while the republican party is based on psychology. The more republicans prove I'm right, the more incredulous I become. I can not fully figure these people out. We used to think that lemmings jumped off cliffs for no apparent reason. That turned out not to be true. Lemmings are actually smarter than that. Republican voters, not so much.
