I learned as a young boy to never get into someone's head with definiteveness. Speculation? Yes. But never definitiveness.
What I see are two errors. One by CNN and one by the OP. That's all I can call out.

(60,320 posts)But really, people can do their own proofreading. With so few words to proofread, and it being in bold enlarged letters, it was certainly noticeable to readers. Even so, stuff happens.

There are so many common words and phrases that are misused and/or misspelled by writers who are professionally obligated to know better.
