Is Jake Tapper now writing VNN headlines?

This is the headline running on CNN's website at 5:25 AM, 5/27/2025

As Trump reignites a trade war and faces a bond market revolt, the economy is about to go through the ringer this week

I guess that's what happens when you have writers who never operated a wringer washing machine.

"ringer" instead of "wringer" is almost as bad as "VNN", wouldn't you say? . . . nt Bernardo de La Paz May 27 #1

How do you know they didn't accidentally leave off the w? Either way, it looks ridiculous to mock a writer for something and then post something such as VNN.

First off, CNN has a proofreader, the poster probably does not.

I learned as a young boy to never get into someone's head with definiteveness. Speculation? Yes. But never definitiveness.

What I see are two errors. One by CNN and one by the OP. That's all I can call out.

defending a DUer, rather than CNN.

But to each his (or her) own.

But really, people can do their own proofreading. With so few words to proofread, and it being in bold enlarged letters, it was certainly noticeable to readers. Even so, stuff happens.

... that they never knew that wringer washers ever existed.
There are so many common words and phrases that are misused and/or misspelled by writers who are professionally obligated to know better.

You literally "fed" your clothing through two rollers (IIRC) that squeezed the water out of the clothes.
