I watched the entire commencement speech of Donald Trump at West Point. It was made up of two parts. the teleprompter and the ad lib.
On the teleprompter, I could hear the voice of Steve Miller mouthing the fascist and regressive lines. That was bad enough, but the ad lib part proved to anyone really listening that Trump is insane.
At the commencement of our future military leaders, Trump was incoherent. He talked about some real estate guy who was successful, sold his business, acquired a "trophy wife" and then went bankrupt. It made no sense. He spoke about a small golfer who was good. WTF. He was all over the map.
Then, when I watched the recap on the TV, every American channel made Trump sound sane. They only replayed the few complete sentences that had any thread of sanity. Even then, Trump said that we are a miliary that "spreads Democracy at the point of a gun", when he obviously meant to say the opposite.
Why is the media covering for this guy? He hates them. 98% of Americans did not watch the whole speech, they only consumed the recap. The MSM makes this insane man look sane and report his actions like they are a well thought out strategy. They are not. This 50% tariff on Europe is just a whim. Trump is like a mad king and very few people in the MSM are calling him out. There will be a reckoning, and we will all suffer. And not just those who support this moron and those of us who oppose him. But beyond that, the whole world. There is no place to hide.

Every news outlet who is sanewashing this idiot is complicit in destroying this country

(173 posts)Why doesn't the media see that in the end game, Krasnov doesn't need them. Much like Russia and RT Krasnov will soon demand one news source, DJTTV.
Much like I don't understand the republicans in Congress. Again Krasnov end game is he doesn't need them to pass anything. If all he has to do is sign an EO and people march to those orders. Congress doesn't have to worry about being reelected, after Krasnov stops future elections.
I know this sounds far fetched and very gloom and doom. But I can't stop thinking about the absolute worst. And I think the rest of the world sees it too.
See Project 2025.

(4,324 posts)I watched the CBS evening news and the anchorwoman introduced the Trump segment like she was reporting on a pleasant human interest story. There doesnt seem to be any urgency about what were dealing with here. It reminds me of that Star Trek episode with these zombie like creatures repeating to Kirk, Spock and Dr. McCoy, You will be absorbed.

However, those situations were not as serious as what we are currently experiencing. This BS is on a much higher level since our actual democracy is being murdered by the GOP.
Greed and power are symptoms of mental health problems. MAGA supporters are sociopathic and sadistic.

(53,072 posts)At one of my 2017 Impeachment protests someone told me that you do not have to be a constituent in any given state to call GOP reps as long as you use this system...use Zillow to get addresses of homes listed for sale in every senators' state and reps' districts.
That is what I have done ever since!!! It's easy too, I found a shortcut to make it even faster. It takes about 5 min per rep.
What I have been doing successfully is to look for a particular Senator or Congressman and go to THEIR district in their state. I use Zillow in order to give me fast info on any homes for sale in a particular district of every red state. I use this fake Zillow address in order to be considered a constituent in that specific Red state and I call their reps (I act like I am an angry GOP voter right off the bat). That way they will not hang up on me. Also, if you give a staffer a phone number and address it is legitimately from their district. That's when I go onto my angry MAGA constituent act (I should get an Oscar Award at this point).
My niece worked as a staffer in one of our local Dem Congress members in DC. She told me that they DO actually listen to the calls they get. GOOD!!!!!
Each call takes about 5 min and I have called ALL GOP Senators at least 4 times since 2016. It takes energy and I often end up crying from frustration and passion but that's a good thing. If staffers hear my upset voice then that is an added benefit. They think I am sincerely upset when I tell them that "He was someone I trusted and voted for and so did my family and friends and he is now taking way my healthcare? My social security? My family amd friends are very angry and we will NOT vote GOP ever again!". That's my basic script. It works for me.

(86,496 posts)Your careful attention to detail makes sure your calls will be counted. And the people you speak to will know youre not just some flake or troublemaker.
And think of it this way: youre VERY likely to be speaking for someone who feels the same way you do, but he or she didnt call in about it. Not everybody feels motivated to call their Rep(s), because they dont think itll do any good or that it wont mean anything.
But theyd be WRONG! The people who answer those phones keep a log of who called (male or female), where theyre calling from (if possible), and what the issue was that drove the call.
The people answering the phones dont stay on any one call for too long. The point is to get as many calls answered as possible. The more, the better. It gives you an idea of the constituency youre dealing with. You can get a sense that theyre really keeping track, or theyre serious about an issue. And it informs whoever the legislator is - on what his/her constituents think he/she should be paying attention to.
When I was in radio, the request line was IT. Outstanding way to know which songs people like (or REALLY like) so you know to put those songs on higher rotation while theyre hot.

(53,072 posts)I do not berate myself with "am a I a fraud?" since I an not a fraudulent caller. I speak for those who won't/can't. I speak as a proud yet angry American.
What really pisses me off is that I have to continue to do this BS again and again and again!!! I'm extremely frustrated with the American voters and I can't wait for it to end in my lifetime but I doubt that is a realistic outcome. I'm 63 and I know that the US democracy has been screwed so severely that there may be no light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm just glad that I decided not to have kids when I was 12. I listen to my instincts and this was a biggie. I'm also glad that my primary care doctor is a democrat and he understands why tRump has made me so upset that I've dropped to 81 pounds. I even stopped watching the news since last July but that doesn't seem to make a difference as far as anxiety goes. Subconsciously I know what IS REALLY going on and that makes me scared and angry. I wish my grandmom gave me the name of some of our relatives in Italy who would be glad to do us a favor (really).
