Today I met a regretful Trump voter

We were swimming in the ocean and this fellow and his wife struck up a conversation with us. A very friendly guy. He's an American citizen living in Panama and his comments were striking.

"I feel Trump lied to me."
"He never said he was going to break the U.S. government."
"When did he become a fan of tariffs?"
"Trump sold us a bill of goods."
"My portfolio is in the shitter."
"I never expected him to be so stupid."
"I wish he would die already."

I politely told him that many people were in the "Find Out" phase and Vance wouldn't be any better. He laughed then said, "Still, things are better than if THAT WOMAN had won."

Hopeless. I just shook my head.

but Hillary won the popular vote and we may find out some day that Kamala actually won the election.

Those who voted against Harris "because she is a woman" would have voted against Biden "because he's too old" or against Gavin Newsom "because he's too handsome", blah blah blah.

Many people who voted for Trump did so out of ignorance.

I personally think we will likely elect an Independent to the presidency soon----an actor or a person with a dynamic personality.

It's just a popularity contest to most Americans now. They don't understand the issues and have no interest in learning about them.

Trump supporters.

I was on a small boat with some other people when a huge cruise ship just missed us. The ship's wake swamped us and we started to sink. On top of it the cruise ship dumped their sewage as they passed and there were turds floating all over.
Another boat sailed over but was having difficulty getting close enough for the tow line to reach. Nobody wanted to swim through the turds, but the water in the boat was getting higher.
Finally the Trump guy dived in. We all watched as the turds floated to either side and left a path for the Trump guy to swim to the other boat.
One guy seemed not to be surprised so I asked what had happened. He turned to me and said "Professional courtesy".

For these gullible idiots who made the stupidest decision of their life by putting a twice impeached convicted felon back into the White House...and they refuse to own their idiocy. Better than if vice President Harris became president? How would he even know that? Does he have access to an alternate universe or alternate timeline that the rest of us aren't living in? Things are playing out exactly as we warned them and the lies that Trump predicted about Biden in 2020? None of them came true. that America is a woman hating pit. Most of the 1/3 population of the USA that is male will not vote for a woman as president. If you can fool yourself with the idea that losing your retirement is better than having Kamala as president, then this nation is lost. That's what I would have asked. I'd want specifics - would your portfolio be in the shitter? If so, how? And be specific.

That seems to fluster red hatters ore than anything else - asking for specifics and not letting go until they either provide them (which they usually can't), try to deflect (which I won't allow), or just shut up.
